EDITORIAL: Ant-Man, two words that have sparked excitement in the eyes of Marvel fans. The chance to see one of Marvel's greatest and unrecognized hero finally on the big screen is a dream come true. With Edgar Wright at helm of the major film it's safe to assure it's going to be fantastic. Edgar Wright director of brilliant films such as Shaun of The Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World making him extremely talented in the genre of science fiction and comedy. The next worry is what will the story and outcome of Ant-Man turn out to be. With Ultron displayed as Ant-Man's greatest adversary in the comics out of the picture who else could the focus of the story turn too and how many films would Ant-Man have? Ant-Man's own villains may be limited but within Marvel is not at all. Ant-Man is a well intelligent character that can hold his ground. His powers are unique and different. His origin is different also. With the right amount of talent this movie could easily work perfectly. Changes would have to be made due to the absence of Ultron, but the story doesn't have to be.
1. Hank Pym as the first Ant-Man in the story: Hank Pym was the reason why Ant-Man began so it's important to keep the same element intact.
2. Having an intelligent villain: The villain needs to be smart, he needs to be a genius above Pym and needs to be the perfect adversary.
3. Giving the story important side characters: The side characters shouldn't be forced in but feel important to the story. Making them minimal enough to keep the focus on the main character.
4. Few major set pieces: It's important to have a movie as Ant-Man different, making it visually stunning is the solution. Giving it an unique edge to it than the previous films.

Without further explanations I have compiled a quick story outline idea and a cast of characters that I believe would be essential to make the film work. I know major changes have been made, but if Joss Whedon is not following The Age of Ultron storyline then why not? It's always good to add a touch of creative and originality here and there to make it feel closer to life.
Quick Story Outline:
Hank Pym has it all, living the dream. A brilliant scientific mind and intelligence like none other. Pym's talent is soon recognized further when he is recruited by Nick Fury to help develop new weapons and technology for S.H.I.E.L.D . Soon Pym begins development on a subtonic formula able to shrink and grow an user in size. In an untimely lab explosion accident involved with the formula at a S.H.I.E.L.D facility his genetics are bonded with the radioactive particles of the formula. Soon after the explosion menacing criminal scientist Elihas Starr bombards the facility with the help of Whirlwind. Elihas Starr a genius mad scientist and Whirlwind a man with super human abilities. While new S.H.I.E.L.D director G.W Bridge investigates the scene he discovers Egghead has stolen important documents retaining to the formula that was implemented on Hank Pym.
Upon that a mysterious woman with wings was discovered by S.H.I.E.L.D operatives moments away from the lab in a dumpster. The woman who calls herself Janet knows much more about Elihas Starr than anyone. She explains with the formula he has just stolen he has the power to shrink the world and crush us like ants. Hank Pym while recovering and getting used to his new found abilities grows a likeness to the mysterious woman Janet but knows she could also be dangerous as she was possibly formally to Elihas Starr. Hank Pym soon finds he is getting weak from the incident, he recruits a former colleague of his named Scott Lang to help develop a suit to contain his abilities with the approval of S.H.I.E.L.D. Meanwhile in the process Elihas Starr monologues about the evils of the world and what hate means to him. Elihas Starr soon finds Janet is being held at a S.H.I.E.L.D facility and plans a direct attack sending Whirlwind and a group of cybernetic androids. With The Avengers disassembled it is up to Hank Pym and S.H.I.E.L.D to stop them. Soon after the battle is won Whirlwind is captured and put in interrogation. It is revealed Whirlwind is a mentally retarded man that is really the son of Elihas Starr. Knowing the stakes are high now G.W Bridge consults Hank Pym on his suit and powers making him go through a training process with help of rookie agent Eric O'Grady. Whirlwinds soon tells S.H.I.E.L.D of Elihas Starr's plans and says he is building a giant shrinking ray satellite dish that he will launch in space at a NASA facility in New Jersey.
Hank Pym suits up to go on the mission. Janet requests to go with Pym to help stop Elihas Starr. G.W Bridge pilots a jet to the NASA facility. Soon while hovering over a rocket hits the jet propeller sending it flying down. Janet quickly flies out the plane and holds the plane up with her strength guiding it down. A group of armed men rush out the facility and some alarms sound. Elihas Starr has not only taken control of the base but the people inside through mind inducing powers. Agent Eric O'Grady who is with them pulls out a stun gun and tales them out with precision. They run to the entrance when suddenly Elihas Starr's voice is overheard, "Welcome to die". A magnetic force field covers the entire building. Neither G.W Bridge or Eric O'Grady can get in. Pym soon finds a small crack in the force field and realizes he is the only one that can get inside and stop Elihas Starr. He shrinks down to size and goes through. He crawls up to the vent to get inside. So Pym goes and takes out the rest of the people inside in an amazing action sequence similar to what we have seen in the test footage. Soon after Pym encounters Elihas Starr at the launch control room. "Pym, your just in time for the show!".
Lights blare around the launch pad. A door opens slowly raising the satellite dish up. "There is no mercy or laws where your going asshole," Pym shouts to Elihas Starr. Pym suddenly transforms to giant size as his suit rips off him. "I have my own secrets too Pym, I have just improved on it," Elihas Starr shouts out. Elihas Starr transforms to a much bigger giant size too. “I know you can't survive without your suit too long Pym with your powers at full effect. Your a genius, but they all fall eventually.” They duke it out in a major giant gladiator style battle ripping apart the facility. Janet flies to battle, her hands begin to glow yellow with light. Janet then sends yellow beams of energy to Elihas Starr's eyes.
Elihas Starr stumbles over and falls on a beam from the facility impaling him in the chest with his final words, “I gave you your powers for a reason Janet, for you to defend yourself at all cost. A nobility your mother never had towards. You were the wasp.” then Elihas Starr slowly shrinks back to size. Pym shrinks back to size and cancels the launch of the satellite immediately then passing out. He wakes up in a S.H.I.E.L.D hospital facility. He looks around and sees Janet by a window. “Thank you for saving me back there, I couldn't have done it without you.” “It was my father Elihas who went too far and I am thankful he is gone.” Janet goes to Pym and kisses him.
There is a knock on the door, enter Agent Phil Coulson with a few documents in hand. Janet leaves the room and Coulson goes to sit next to Pym, “I heard you had a rough day. We injected you with some medical treatment. It should sustain you for a while. I've also brought back your colleague Scott Lang. We're going to work on blueprints for a new suit. Whirlwind escaped.” Pym looks to Coulson, “How long I'm I going to be out the field. I still would appreciate to work with S.H.I.E.L.D.” Coulson hands Pym over a few documents, “It's called project Ant Farm. We gathered a select amount of species of ants from around the world. It's an experimental project. It's the only thing we have now until you build up your strength.” “What about Janet what will you do with her?”, Pym asks. “I think you and Janet will do well working together,” Coulson says before he leaves the room. The film ends with Hank Pym putting on his new suit and tweaking his helmet. He shrinks down to size and enters a small Ant Farm. A few ants crawl towards him. One of the ants goes closer towards him. Pym says, “Hello I'm Ant-Man.”

Thank you for reading. I truly hope you consider my idea. This was a very serious editorial I had in mind to write, no jokes here whatsoever just being down to Earth for real. I believe in Ant-Man, I believe this movie can work. Well if my idea doesn't turn out like the film so what, it's a visualization as I would like to call it of a dream of a true fan like myself who reads and loves these comics. The inspiration it takes and imagination it brings to our minds to explore ways of creativity. This is the sole reason why heroes exist. They go beyond what we know and the dive into concepts like none other. It's a fantasy another reality we are chosen to believe in. We escape our world and seek another full of adventure and excitement. It's all written in comic books and displayed in an immense amount when it comes to the art of film making. The bold beauty of it is fantastic, it is wonderful. It's a true wonder to believe such a simple page can spark thousands of words to come for the future. I am Jacky, and once again thank you for reading.
