Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star Jason Momoa recently sent speculation into overdrive when he revealed that one of his dream projects was now in development under the watch of new DCU co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The See actor also posted a separate video, excitedly teasing another mysterious gig while thanking "Maestro" for the opportunity.
Momoa is a huge fan of DC Comics anti-hero Lobo, and Gunn added fuel to the fire last night by making his first Mastodon post an image of "The Main Man."
Are these stories connected? ComicBook.com asked Momoa that very question, and his "surprised" might be very telling indeed.
Could Momoa take on the roles of both Aquaman and Lobo in the DCU? It may seem unlikely, but it wouldn't be the first time an actor played two different comic book characters - even within the same universe (Gemma Chan portrayed Minerva in Captain Marvel and Sersi in Eternals).
Momoa also addressed his "Maestro" tease in a separate interview with CinemaBlend, indicating that he wasn't referring to a DCU project at all. “No. No, no, no, no. You have to dig deeper. It’s the Holy Grail. And it’s different than the DC thing”
Gunn and Safran only started in their new positions at DC Studios last week, so it'll probably be a while before any official announcements regarding planned projects come our way. Momoa clearly knows something, though, so let's hope he decides to let a few more details slip during this Slumberland press tour!
