Director James Wan has shared a first look at Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, unveiling both costumes Jason Momoa's titular Atlantean will wear in the upcoming DC Comics superhero sequel. The first is his classic outfit, while the second is an awesome new stealth suit that draws inspiration from Arthur Curry's blue costume from the 1980s.

In his caption, Wan wrote, "Here’s @prideofgypsies in the classic #Aquaman suit AND a sneak peek at his other outfit — the stealth suit. Atlantean tech based on cephalopod’s camouflaging ability. David Leslie Johnson and I were inspired by the 80’s “blue suit”."

In addition to the fan-favorite Momoa as the titular DC superhero, the supporting cast will feature Amber Heard (Mera), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (David Kane/Black Manta), Patrick Wilson (Prince Orm Marius), Temuera Morrison (Tom Curry), and Dolph Lundgren (King Nereus). Game of Thrones alum Pilou Asbæk is the only announced newcomer, joining the ensemble cast in an undisclosed villain role.

No word yet on Nicole Kidman or Willem Dafoe, but it seems more probable than not that they'll all also be back in some capacity as Atlanna and Vulko, respectively.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is scheduled to hit theaters on December 16, 2022.
