With the success of Man Of Steel, we can expect more DC Comics characters to finally make their way to the big screen at some point in the near future. One character who has been suggested for his own film is Aquaman, who was once considered a ridiculous character until Geoff Johns began his "New 52" comic book run in 2011. That series shows just how much potential an Aquaman movie has, and in an interview with MTV at San Diego Comic-Con, Johns shares his thoughts on a possible film starring the King of Atlantis. "I'd love to see an Aquaman movie. I think he's a terrific character. People know him. The world is amazing. Working with Ivan Reis on 'Aquaman' and later Paul Pelletier, the visuals are exciting. The characters are exciting. There are creatures. Ninety percent of the oceans have never been seen by human eyes. Most of our threats come from space, but I also think that having threats come from the deep sea would be great to see."
Last month, it was reported that among the DC films Warner Bros. is considering are
Wonder Woman and
Aquaman. Perhaps the King of Atlantis will be featured in the planned
Justice League movie after all? With both WB's panel and the Superman 75th Anniversary celebration (
Man Of Steel star Henry Cavill is attending the latter) today, hopefully we'll hear something official regarding the future of DC on film shortly. Would you like to see an
Aquaman movie?
