Mark Ruffalo has described Thor: Ragnarok, Infinity War, and Avengers 4 as a trilogy for The Hulk and now, we have a set photo that may indicate which direction Marvel plans on taking the Green Goliath.

3x Academy Award-nominee Mark Ruffalo is on the record saying that Thor: Ragnarok was the beginning of a new trilogy for The Hulk and that his story would continue through Avengers: Infinity War before concluding in 2019's still-untitled Avengers 4. After this reveal, he remained intentionally vague about where Marvel plans on taking his fan-favorite character, but it looks as though a new set photo may have inadvertently revealed their plans - that is, unless we're just reading too much into it.

The new photo sees a bewildered-looking Bruce Banner filming a scene with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Wong (Benedict Wong) with a massive grey hand reaching for his neck. This motion-capture hand could, of course, be either the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin) or his oldest and largest child, Cull Obsidian, but there's also a third, much more, intriguing option as well... it could actually be The Hulk, himself, which would mean Bruce Banner, after years of trying and failing, has somehow successfully separated himself from his jolly green roommate.

Now, if our theory is correct, it's still a little hard to say how exactly Banner could have achieved this feat, but with Wong on-site, there is a strong possibility that magic may have played a significant part, although you can't rule out an Infinity Stone either. Also, this development does essentially feed into the recent theory that Banner is actually piloting the Hulkbuster armor in Wakanda, and not Stark, seeing as he would need a new method of fighting Thanos' forces if he is no longer The Incredible Hulk.

I assume some form of separation of the Hulk and Banner, turning them into two entities
