Don't Worry, Hawkeye Will Get "A Lot Of Cool New Stuff" In AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Fans are furious about the lack of Hawkeye in marketing material for Avengers: Infinity War but the movie's prop master has promised that we should expect big things from the archer in the Marvel movie.

What exactly Hawkeye will be getting up to in Avengers: Infinity War remains to be seen right now. Will he have retired? Is he going to be on a solo mission? Is he dead? Well, we'll find out next month but it definitely sounds as if we should expect some pretty cool things from the fan-favourite archer here.

During an on-set interview last year, Marvel Studios prop master Russell Bobbitt talked to the press about a number of topics, including the new costumes and gadgets we should expect to see here.

Interestingly, he actually singled out Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton, noting: "Hawkeye is getting a lot of cool new stuff. We're developing a lot of interesting stuff for him. All in the, sort of, bow related but some new gadgets he has in addition to the bow." He went on to assure fans that Hawkeye is "totally there" and "a part of the world!" That's definitely going to come as a relief to fans of the character.

The prevailing fan theory is that Hawkeye will be the one who finds the Soul Stone, something which would give him a key role to play in Avengers: Infinity War. Then, there's the possibility that Hawkeye's family are somehow killed during Thanos' invasion which leads to him becoming Ronin instead.

If someone dies it will be Hawkeye and War Machine

@DoubleD - Naw. They kill off the character thats hardly in it. I doubt it.

And as for war machine, he was wounded in civil war, so for that reason it seems less likley, but its still highly possible.

In other words: "Hawkeye is still just a filler for us."

@MosquitoFarmer - Plus our Savior Slipknot killed it with his snakes and sparklers in that film. Probably the best role Spade has played outside of Richard in Tommy Boy.

You know one thing that sucks, we will never see this line up star in a movie together

sure they will all be in at least 1 or these films, but we will never get to see the original comic book line up fighting side by side, since Wasp isnt having a big role, Antman hasnt even been in the trailers, they are going to be mostly seperated for the movie, and at least 3 of them are done after these two films. In Age of Ultron we got to see the second roster of avengers before the originals together

Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 3/22/2018, 4:24 AM
@dracula - I wouldn't assume "never", but the MCU is ultimately going to be different than the comics. I'm still a little sore that they made Jessica Jones without even trying to find some connection to the Avengers (just having a scene where Nick Fury considers her for the Avengers and rejects her). And while I like what the first movie did with Hank Pym in terms of his character, it is a shame that he and Tony will never really be peers. And a shame that the Fantastic Four aren't there, yet. And a shame that the X-Men aren't there, yet. And on and on...

But, such is life. Can't get too hung up on ordering a pizza with everything that shows up without anchovies.

On the plus side, should Marvel get ambitious in the gaming side, I think it's entirely possible we could get a series of games that try to do a gaming version of the MCU, splitting the difference with the comics themselves. Because it's a fully-digital medium, you can do a lot of worldbuilding and crosscutting that the films just don't really have time for.

That is the avenue of the "perfect" adaptation, rather than films. (Even if the films are still quite good.)

Wait, there's actually a theory about Hawkeye getting the soul stone?
So my Thanos spelling are really being considered by some? Ok. I wouldn't mind.

@Jaspion - Doesn't really make sense. No mortal can wield one, and short of Fury giving him it to hide and keep safe, it's impossible in every way. And if Fury did have the stone, he wouldn't have needed the Tesseract so badly.
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 3/22/2018, 4:50 AM
@MosquitoFarmer - Maybe it wasn't SHIELD that had it, but his Skrull wife.
Jaspion
Jaspion - 3/22/2018, 4:56 AM
@MosquitoFarmer - I made this as a joke, because of his absence of the marketing stuff.
But if the stone is contained inside an object, like the orb or the eye of agamoto, he could carry it, but probably not use it.
Jaspion
Jaspion - 3/22/2018, 4:59 AM
@Spock0Clock - Wait, if she's a skrull then does it matter if she dies? Or is he a skrull as well?

He's like Superman in the Justice League posters, he's not there but appear in the end of the movie to save the day.

Like a headshot to Thanos out of nowhere.

Nick Fury has to be in this one. At the very least in 4. I know Jackson has denied he's in either, but he brought the team together damnit. Plus he was spotted with Maria Hill on set and it looked more like an apocalyptic New York than anything for Captain Marvel.
