Fandango Survey Reveals The Most Highly Anticipated Superhero Movies Of 2018

There are a lot of awesome movies on the way in 2018 but which currently stand out as the most highly anticipated among moviegoers? Well, a new Fandango survey sheds some light on which comes out on top...

It seems Marvel Studios can do no wrong as it's been revealed today that a poll conducted by Fandango quizzing 8000 users who describe themselves as "frequent moviegoers" points to Avengers: Infinity War being 2018's most highly anticipated movie. That should probably come as no surprise given the studio's success in 2017 and the release of the trailer which knocked everyone's socks off!

However, close behind it - and this is a little more shocking - is Black Panther, a sign perhaps that people can't wait to see more of T'Challa in action after watching Captain America: Civil War last year.

These are followed by Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Deadpool 2, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Incredibles 2, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, A Wrinkle in Time, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and, in tenth place, Ocean’s 8. It's interesting that there's no mention of Ant-Man and The Wasp and Aquaman but, like Venom, the marketing campaign for those has barely begun so there still time for that to change.

Which of these 2018 movies are you most excited about? Share your thoughts in the usual place.

How could anyone be more excited about any other movie when obvious best and most important film in 2018 is so... obviously best? Perhaps the greatest achievement in cinematic storytelling ever?

This dude is getting a sequel, baby.

@Spock0Clock -

is so amazing that the "flavor or the week"
is getting a sequel where the "grand daddy of superheroes" can't get the sequel off the ground...

@Spock0Clock - watched it last nite in 3D and realize how much better the CGI was in comparison to JL. Not bad for a movie with a $130 million budget and called the flavor of the week.

@FrankLeeGitnit -

Everyone's list is individual - for me most the lower listed ones are simply not as interesting or have not really won me over yet in terms of the concept

Black Panther and Infinity War are really duking it out for my most anticipated (Panther might have the slight edge because it’s so much closer).

Regardless of the movie itself and the whole interesting Black Panther's mythology, themes, that Black Panther movie is really important because it preludes Infinity War and will probably gives hints or explains why Thanos will end up sending his army to Wakanda.

I wouldn't be surprised if the mid or after credit features a scene with either the soul gem or with Cap/Nomad or Bucky being defrozen.

In terms of cbms next year it's

1. IW
2. BP
3. DP 2
4. Ant-man and Wasp

That's it. I have the intense feeling in my stomach that Dp2 will be much inferior than the first since the novelty is gone.
