Recent unfortunate reports suggest that filming for Marvel's forthcoming film The Avengers have come to a pause, due to the recent known leak of Samuel L. Jackson's script.

It's well known that filming for Marvel Studios' crossover phenomenon The Avengers commenced earlier this week. And it's also known that only a day after, several news outlets & blogs were offered actor Samuel L. Jackson's supposed shooting script, for the right price of course. Well, due to just that, Fan Film Review is reporting:

According to our sources close to the production of The Avengers filming has completely halted. The number one reason being that the studio has seen fit to call for a rewrite of the scenes that had been compromised by the release of the photographed script pages. However, this source indicated that the theft Samuel L. Jacksons script DID NOT occur in Albuquerque, but apparently happened in Burbank CA. Our sources gave no indication as to when the film would return to full production

Theres no indication of the site's legitimacy, other than the fact that the editor resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where primary filming for The Avengers is was occurring. Therefore, don't think too much of this report being accurate.

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. I don't beleive this for even a second. There is no way Marvel and Whedon and every producer involved would throw away anything in this film due to a script leak. It took entirely too much effort to get to this point and too much is involved with that script.

If the scenes involved are important to the film then that would be pure crazyness and if they are not that important to the film then who cares if people are aware of what takes place in them.

I don't think there's anything to be too worried about. Marvel Studios knows that they have a deadline and the scenes that were released were pretty minor, so a rewrite should not take long at all. My guess is that filming will be delayed for a week at the most. Then again, I'm not familiar with how movie-making works, so I guess we'll just see what happens.

I'm going to try and stay optimistic though.

I call crazy BS! The scenes leaked were hardly story spoiling. If it's true that the scene needs rewriting I'd assume it can be done, easily, without halting filming

if true, its ridiculous.

they will release 2/3 trailers and 10 tv spots and probably 2 or 3 scenes before the US release, so what's the problem if part of some scenes leaked?

it wont affect worldwide boxoffice, its not like the whole world read these articles on the net.

if this is true then the whole movie might be pushed back a month or two during all the rewrites. Like it was 129 pages of the script and story so it gotta be altered!

They just need to send Dog the Bounty Hunter and the J-team from Southern Fried Justice after the douche that stole the script. Then have people from Operation Repo take the guys car. A group of us should go box up all his belonging and put it in a storage locker and not pay for it so it can be auctioned off on Storage Wars. Hopefully the guy will get so upset he will resort to meth. Then we can see him on Intervention.
