New CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Set Prep Photos Tease Wakanda And A London Flashback?

It appears Captain America: Civil War has brought Africa and Europe to Atlanta, Georgia, as new photos have surfaced showcasing set preparations at multiple locations. Check them out after the jump!

So far, the majority of filming for Captain America: Civil War has taken place indoors on sound stages in Atlanta, Georgia. However, it appears the Marvel Studios production will finally be heading outdoors this week as locals have spotted some intriguing set preparations in multiple locations. One set of photos via ATLwood411  show what appears to be an entire village that's likely doubling for part of the Black Panther's African nation of Wakanda. Especially given previous Civil War casting calls had requested many extras for African Market scenes to be filmed this week.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Journal Constitution has shared some more photos from a different filming location for Captain America: Civil War. These particular photos, as well as a filming notice, indicate that Atlanta will also be doubling for London and during a period setting in the movie. Apparently, the production crew has transformed an Irish pub into an English Pub, and the filming notice suggests the scenes here will take place "solely" inside the building. However, the pub's exterior will be visible through windows in the scene, so that explains the period cars and set dressings below.

There have been reported sightings of several stars of Captain America: Civil War on and around the set(s), so hopefully we'll get a look at someone in costume this week. What do you think?

Directed by Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain. Starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, Frank Grillo, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman, Captain America: Civil War is set for release on May 6, 2016.

Is Cap dreaming in a dream? How else is he able to put Wakanda and the UK right next to each other?

I don't really think all the slums are part of Wakanda. They could be any country really.
Also (nitpicking alert), if they want to have s scene set in London, why not just film the bloody thing in London? We're more than welcome to have you this side of the pond, Marvel.

That's supposed to be Lagos, Nigeria. Wakanda doesn't look like that.

Is this gonna be Age of Ultron all over again where everyone assumes any location in Africa has to be Wakanda?

@TheBritAvengers
Filming in London could cost a little to much and that is why they aren't going to shoot this scene there.

@TheBritAvenger

Because maybe it's just one scene, and it doesn't justify the tremendous amount of money moving to London would mean, I suppose.

Wakanda is an advanced, isolated nation (or at least it should be).

By the way, was anybody else annoyed that Banner stumbled when pronouncing Wakanda in AOU? I mean, he's supposed to be brilliant, right?

i doubt it's doubling for wakanda, wakanda is meant to be huge, rich and magnificent not just some ordinary piece of africa.

Like the PSR said, Wakanda isn't some slum located in the bowels of Africa. It's a high-tech nation hidden away in the jungle. Marvel would be stupid (they aren't stupid) if they turned Wakanda into some 'Slum-dog Millionaire" type location where everyone sleeps in piles of dust and trash. Knowing Marvel, they won't do that. They'll give us the Wakanda from the comics, the one comprised of citadels and other large structures. The one that looks like it came from the year 2525, not 2016.

Hell yeah Pasto is right. I can't wait to see how they do Wakanda. It'll be like seeing Asgard for the first time in Thor.
