That 98% has already slipped down from when I saw it this morning, as long as it stays above 90 I will be happy.

It definitely raises the bar for Marvels movies. Hopefully they use this as a spring board, and stops making generic cookie cutter films that are afraid to push the envelope. The Avengers didn't do anything new, but what it did do was excel in every facet where previous Marvel films failed. It will be very interesting to see how the universe shakes up after The Avengers.

I think when it is all said and done it will be right at 90%. There will be more than a few critics that will site it as being gimmicky blah, blah, blah. At the end of the day this movie is worth the 14 or so bucks it costs per ticket. Definitely a top ten comic book movie.

This movie isnt out now until may, but it lost 4% already, so I really doubt it will stay better than TDK, but this should be the problem of all, who cares anyway, how much others rate a movie you want to watch. There are still people, who love watching Batman&Robin and they dont care what rating the movie got. Its all about relaxing.

@bigshow2312 ...Except Mark Ruffalo's Hulk and Bruce Banner is said to be some of the best parts of the film, so...

...no.

No, that 4% came from that reviewer who didn't know what the hell they were talking about.

I thought Norton's Banner had a lot more layers, and was an interesting take on the psyche of the character. Ruffalo had the benefit of not having to worry about fleshing out the character, so he could just have fun with it, which is what he did. I like how the movie made more use of Dr. Banner than the hulk. It would have been easy just to downplay bruce, and give needless screen time to the hulk but the Avengers did it perfectly.

@SuperDuperness

LOL

I guess I'm just upset that they would continue the film without an original actor of the group

@bigshow2312

That initially annoyed me too, but however brilliant I thought Norton was as the Hulk (and as an actor overall), I've always held Mark Ruffalo with the same high regard.

If they had to replace Norton with anyone, I'm glad it was at least another actor who is just as brilliant.

Since experiencing this with Terrance Howard and Don Cheadle, I can't see Marvel ever replacing a character with any actor that would be considered a step down, you know what I mean?

@Tea you did review it? Nice man. I'll definitely check that out tonight when I'm at work!

Yeah, I feel a "best comic book movie" list can be really subjective, and impossible to do. Those are the ones (save for The Avengers for obvious reasons) that I can re watch over, and enjoy them.

@GiantNerd

I just enjoyed watching 300 more. For me that was just a damn fun, entertaining movie. Is it great plot twise? Nope. For me, it's the apex of what mindless entertainment is. It wasn't afraid to be violent, and over the top, and there is something about it that I find endearing.
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 4/27/2012, 6:25 PM
@RFBD That's cool. I can see why you like it. I'm a fan of violence in movies if they aren't trying to gross you out by it. Sin City is one of my favorites too. I just couldn't find lastability in 300. Maybe after a while I'll bust it out again. How did you feel about Watchmen?
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 4/27/2012, 6:40 PM
@weeniesnatch That's probably a lot like what my list will look like after I see it. Lol.
RidiculousFanBoyDemands
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 4/27/2012, 8:03 PM
@GiantNerd

I'm one of the people that really enjoyed Watchmen. Now, I didn't read the comic until right before the movie came out, so I can't say I was in love with it prior to seeing it. I was surprised about how much of it really worked on screen, and how authentic everything felt. It's not a perfect movie, and it does get bogged down by it's message, and was a little confusing at times.

However, I saw it the other day and didn't enjoy it as much as I remembered. For some reason it didn't stick with me, and I found myself tuning in and out. That is probably due to the fact that I have seen it, and there was only a handful of scenes I was truly looking forward to. I still think it's a really good movie, it's just not a top ten for me because of the re watch ability factor. It was more of a movie that wowed me the first time, but the more I watch it the harder it is for me to escape mentally into that world. I know that sounds confusing, but my feelings about that movie are very complex. It's definitely a great comic book movie, but for something to be in my top ten it needs to be re watch able, and Watchmen (while really good the first time I saw it) just isn't in that class for me. However, I do intend to wait a few months and check out the directors cut. Perhaps that will make me change my mind.
GiantNerd
GiantNerd - 4/27/2012, 8:28 PM
@RFBD I like Watchmen quite a bit. I think the whole atmosphere is really intriguing. I think the score really helps the film a lot. Some people said it felt out of place but I think the complete opposite. I really like the sadness of Dr.Manhattan too. The end feels a bit rushed to me but overall I think it's a pretty sweet movie. I heard the directors cut is really good but I have yet to check it out.

oh btw that was Captain America TFA 2011, not the cheesy, b movie version in the 90's, lol

that's really something to look forward seeing as even Rotten Tomatoes gave it a really glowing rate well at least up to this moment.

it's the long, much, much, much, awaited CBM Hero adaptation of the decade!

Ladies and Gentlemen of CBM,I have seen it and I only have one thing to say.....Nailed it! I had my doubts on Joss Whedon making this movie,as I am not really a fan of his Buffy or comics book stylings. I will sit down and eat a heaping bowl of crow. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I twitched in my seat like a little girl when Stark got his new armor, and Ruffalo was awesome as well.They got the Hulk right...Puny God too funny.I will be seeing it in the theatres next Friday.I dare anyone NOT to see this.....
