BATGIRL: More Set Photos Tease A Possible Appearance From Jurnee Smollett's Black Canary

Even more photos from the set of Batgirl have found their way online, and this latest batch tease a possible appearance from Birds of Prey star Jurnee Smollett as Dinah Lance, aka Black Canary...

The HBO Max Batgirl movie has been filming in Glasgow, Scotland for a couple of months at this stage, but photos from the set are only just starting to surface.

We got a first look at star Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon earlier today, and that was followed by a mural of Batman and Robin. Now, some graffiti has been spotted, which may confirm a recent rumor that Black Canary will also appear.

Twitter user Best of Jurnee Smollett shared the snaps, which reveal the hero's name/logo along with a blurry glimpse of some artwork featuring the character. This version of Black Canary is masked, and seems to be sporting a very different hairstyle to the one Smollett rocked in Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of one Harley Quinn).

This doesn't mean Dinah Lance will definitely appear, of course, as the graffiti could simply turn out to be an Easter Egg teasing Misha Green's planned HBO Max Black Canary series.

Batgirl will also star J.K. Simmons as Jim Gordon, and Jacob Scipio and Brendan Fraser in undisclosed roles (the latter is believed to be playing the villainous Firefly). It's also been confirmed that Michael Keaton's Batman will appear.

Loki composer Natalie Holt recently announced that she's signed on to work on the movie's score, while Christina Hodson, who wrote Bumblebee and also worked on Birds of Prey and The Flash, penned the most recent draft of the script.

The HBO Max movie is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. No release date has been announced.
