As production on Batgirl continues in Glasgow, Scotland (we have a few new set photos, but still no sign of Leslie Grace in her costume), a new rumor is claiming that the HBO Max feature will set-up a future Nightwing movie.

Following those recent set snaps spotlighting a mural of Batman and Robin, Twitter "scooper" MyTimeToShineHello is claiming that Warner Bros. has found its Dick Grayson, and Batgirl will lay the groundwork for the character to headline his own solo outing. We don't know if the Boy Wonder will actually make his debut in this film, but there are whispers that Dylan O'Brien (The Maze Runner) is the studio's top choice for the role.

The timing seems a little convenient, but we do know that a Nightwing movie has been in development for quite some time, and even though plans stalled after the release of/reception to Justice League, original director Chris McKay (The LEGO Batman Movie) recently indicated that the project had not been scrapped and was stil part of WB's slate.

Twitter is full of so-called insiders dropping vague hints and educated guesses, so it's difficult to know how much stock to put in this. That said, if Warner Bros. is planning to set-up up a Nightwing film, Batgirl would seem like the ideal place to do it.

Be sure to let us know what you make of this rumor in the comments, and check out the latest photos from the Batgirl set below.
