BOX OFFICE: THE EXPENDABLES 2 Takes #1; THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Passes $400M Domestically

Deadline reports that with an 'A-' CinemaScore, The Expendables 2 earned $11.5 million yesterday, putting it on course for a $30 million weekend and the #1 spot. Back in 2010, The Expendables made $34 million during its opening weekend. Despite new releases like Paranorman and Sparkle (Whitney Houston's final film before her death), The Bourne Legacy is set to be pushed down to only #2 after it made $5.4 million yesterday and a predicted $17.2 million for the weekend. Meanwhile, The Dark Knight Rises has now passed the $400 million mark domestically after taking $3.1 million yesterday and around $10.4 million for the weekend (giving it a total of $409.2 million). The past few weeks at the North American box office have been very unpredictable, so we'll be sure to bring you the final figures either tomorrow or Monday.
