<>'s Jeff Sneider has just broken the following casting exlusive for The Dark Knight Rises:

Christopher Nolan's longtime casting director John Papsidera must have seen "Apollo 13" recently, as veteran character actors Brett Cullen and Chris Ellis are set to round out the ensemble of Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures' tentpole "The Dark Knight Rises."

Cullen will play a judge, while Ellis will play a priest.

With an all star cast which includes Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 20, 2012!

if they jam this movie with too many minor characters, (like the dark kinght) ill be pissed, it takes away from batman and the Villains screen time.... dark knight was super overrated , full w/ a bunch of awful lines

The inclusion of a Priest is definitely interesting to me. Big or small, I like the idea. Sounds a little more epic and it's a character we haven't seen yet among the mobsters and cops.

This Batman film will probably be the best comic book movie ever. I mean it's this or The Avengers, but I donno the cast is shaping up VERY nicely.

Good to know that they are not holding any stop for this movie. Even people who will probably be in the movie for 5 mins are veteran actors. Must be because of the awesome script.

The chanting isn't actual chanting on the TDKR website, its some sort of code which was used to crack Bane's picture. Pretty sure a priest plays a role in the Bane's days before he went through with the Venom experiments.

On a side note, looking at the image of Batman's face that illustrates this story on the front page, that really is one bad looking cowl. No wonder I was surprised at how much cooler Michael Keaton's costume was than I remembered.
