Colin Farrell On Whether He Would Consider Playing BATMAN For The Reboot

While doing his press rounds for Total Recall, actor Colin Farrell was asked about almost being cast as Bruce Wayne in the doomed Batman Vs. Superman as well as if he would take on the role now that Christopher Nolan's trilogy is done.

The Total Recall ball is rolling with the cast doing numerous interviews for the premieres. While talking with IGN Colin Farrell was reminded of how close he was to being The Dark Knight in the canceled superhero team up film Batman Vs. Superman. He also touched on whether or not he would even consider taking on the role of Batman again as well. Check out what he had to say in the video below.

On the possibility of playing Batman:

"The kid part of me would say 'Yeah for sure'. But Christian did such a brilliant brilliant job, I'm not saying I've got the call, but I'm not sure if it's something I'd be interested in. I don't know if I'm brave enough to know I am walking in to the lion's den of being compared to Christian in that role. Life might be to short for me to have those concerns. And I just love what Christian did so much, and I love that trilogy so much."

While you may not be able to see Colin Farrell as Batman you can catch Christian Bale in the role In The Dark Knight Rises along with Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman in theaters NOW!!!!

I'm not bashing the movies at all here, I really like all of them! But I've always thought that Christian Bale has never been a great fit for Bruce Wayne. Besides the meh romantic subplot in BB and TDK, that's always been the series weakest link for me. His performances have never really stood out in the movies for me anyway. But luckily pretty much everyone else in the cast has been consistently great. Especially Gary Oldman. He is a fantastic actor!!!

Tough choice for next Batman, personally, especially if want to sign them up for several films including a JL movie, then I would go with an unknown actor.

Much like Man Of Steel, where the actor is still relativity new and unknown, but has done a few smaller things that illustrate an acting ability.

Now that this trilogy is over, when I thought about it, there was really nothing significant in it...other than the death and box office.

All I wish is that the next actor to play Bruce is able to be as intimidating and tough as the Batman in the Arkham series.

Richard Armitage would be the perfect Bruce/Batman imo, too bad he will be too old for a future reboot

There doesn't need to be a reboot of this for a long while, but I guess if someone had to play Bruce Then my pick is Ian Somerhalder

If Total Recall flops or underperforms then Warner Bros would be crazy to cast him as Batman. Look what happened with George Clooney!

Ian Sommerhalder?! are you guys serious? First, we should give Batman a rest, 5 years minimum. Then we'll talk who the next Bruce Wayne will be.
