Back in November 2022, actor and comedian George Lopez, who plays Uncle Rudy in the Blue Beetle film, stated on The Bryon Scott Podcast, that he thought Batman had a cameo in the film. This led to a myriad of different rumors about the nature of a potential cameo from Ben Affleck's Batman.
Fast forward to today, and it seems apparent that Lopez may have been confused by the line in the film where Uncle Rudy calls Batman a fascist.
Still, it goes to show how online rumors about superhero movies can sometimes take on a life of their own.
Replying to a fan on Twitter who was convinced Jame Gunn and Peter Safran nixed a cameo from Affleck's Batman in the film when they became co-CEOs of DC Studios, Gunn informed the misguided fan that he was severely mistaken.
"I've never heard of a Ben Affleck voice cameo in [Blue] Beetle, nor has Peter [Safran], much less cut one."
Unless he appears in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, Affleck's final turn as Batman will be in The Flash.
Wading back into rumor territory, it was stated that Aquaman 2 was originally set to feature Michael Keaton's Dark Knight, before he was replaced by Affleck during reshoots.
The Warner Bros. brass ultimately decided to nix all cameos from other DCEU superheroes from the sequel when they committed to a cinematic universe reboot spearheaded by Gunn and Safran.
James Wan recently touted the standalone nature of the sequel as justification for DC fans to venture out to theaters to see Aquaman 2, which will be the last installment in Zack Snyder's DCEU.
