It's been a great year for Joseph Gordon-Levitt. After a starring in The Dark Knight Rises, the actor followed that up with leading roles in both Premium Rush and the critically acclaimed Looper (which will hit theatres on September 28th). Levitt also has a role in Stephen Spielberg's Lincoln, but in the following interview with David Letterman, he talks in detail about his interpretation of how Christopher Nolan's final Batman film wrapped up and reveals a little more about what audiences should expect from Looper. Unfortunately, we don't have a transcription of the interview (it is pretty lengthy...) but you can watch the full chat below. Many thanks to Batman-News for the heads up.
In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a "looper" – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to "close the loop," sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.
