POLL: What Do You Think Of Bane's Voice In THE DARK KNIGHT RISES?

We all saw the new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, and many fans watched the prologue with Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, and there seems to be one thing a lot of people don't like: Bane's voice. So, what are your thoughts on it?

Yesterday, we got a brand new theatrical trailer for the Christopher Nolan-directed film The Dark Knight Rises, a third chapter in his Batman franchise. The trailer featured a lot of new footage, but for those who haven't seen the prologue, we finally had a chance to hear Tom Hardy as Bane. The reactions to Bane's voice in the prologue attached to IMAX screens of Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol were, well, very negative. A lot of people couldn't understand what he was saying. And it seems that Nolan won't be altering his voice in post-production. But, there is still seven months until the release of the film, so anything is possible.

Now, if you have seen the prologue and trailer, what do you think of Bane's voice?

Starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Morgan Freeman, The Dark Knight Rises is set to hit theatres on July 20, 2012!

Honestly, I don't know what to think of it. I didn't think it was his voice, just a menacing growl.

I think it sounds awesome, really gives off a Darth Vader vibe. Though, occasionally he says something that's hard to understand at first listen. Hopefully that'll be fixed in the final cut.

I agree with PaulRom. It just sounds cool. It's what you'd expect from somebody with a giant mechanical mask. It just makes sense.

maybe if he didn't sound like henry killinger it wouldn't be as hard to understand

I think he sounds terrifying. He sounds extremely calm yet evil. When he says " When Gotham is ash , you have my permission to die." That line is very spine chilling.

He sounds like a cross between Hannibal Lector and Darth Vader.

The "voice" is fine. Just increase the "volume".

The voice sounds great, sounds at the same time classy and gritty, British & Latin, in pain and in charge.

It's alright, but in some parts I couldn't understand him, so I hope they will fix some of it in post-production.

It's alright. A little hard to understand sometimes, but I've only heard it a couple times. I'll need to hear him throughout the whole movie to get the full feel of it.

Hopefully bale sorts his voice out in this film else we will need subtitles through the whole film.

I don't know how editors come up with some of the options. I hate it, but don't want them to change it ASAP because I know that is an unrealistic expectation.

" I'm glad they stuck with the Spanish accent."

How in Sam hell do you come up with a Spanish accent??? That is one of my complaints is that he sounds like a wheezy old man and has no Spanish/Latin accent. Most everyone is saying he sounds somewhat British. Even if there is no accent I think Bane should have a low register and deep menacing voice. Not a high-pitched wheezy voice.

@JackRussoff - No, it is very clearly an ENGLISH accent. You're as bad as the people who can't understand what he's saying, go get a [frick]ing check up on your ears boy.

@JackRussoff I'm hearing a Hispanic accent too, to which I say: Good freaking job Nolan! Even if they are tweaking the character to fit in the Nolan-verse, I'm glad they're keeping key traits like the accent and being a ruthless, intelligent mastermind.

The prologue and the trailer have different sounds for his voice. I think Nolan hasn't gone and made the changes to his voice in other scenes at the time like he did with the prologue.

As for people saying everyone hates his voice, it has been the total opposite of what I have been seeing. I have seen more people that have watched the IMAX prologue say that Bane's voice is awesome but just a little hard to understand him at times.

If his voice in the final movie is just like the prologue, then I will love his voice cause it is so not what you expected him to sound.

Okay...now I have heard two people out of everyone saying it sounds Spanish. I don't hear a trace of Spanish and I live in Hispanic mecca USA.

Okay, I live in Indiana and he sounds like Inigo Montoya when he says the words "permission to die". Where's that gotten us?

Voice is awesome. Another actor has disappeared inside a Dark Knight villain.

Annoying youtubers and there easy-to-do Joker impressions have to step their game up.

Is it me, or does his voice sound different in the trailer compared to the prologue?
