Thanks to USA Today, we have a new look at The Batman. One of 2022's most highly anticipated movies, it was originally set to arrive in theaters (and presumably on HBO Max) last year before several complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic pushed it back to this Spring.

In this breathtaking shot from Matt Reeves' DC Comics adaptation, we see Batman confronting Catwoman as the sun rises (or sets) on Gotham City. It's a piece of imagery that looks like it's been torn straight from the pages of the comic books, and one we can't wait to see on an IMAX screen.

During a recent interview in Empire Magazine, Robert Pattinson talked about the experience of donning the Dark Knight's Batsuit on the set of The Batman. "It’s so difficult to express yourself through it," he said. "It’s designed to frighten people; no one really needs to know what your emotional state is while you’re in it. But in this movie, so much happens while he’s in the suit that you’ve got to figure out how to make it work. It’s not just beating people up."

The Batman finds the Caped Crusader in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting.

Joining Pattinson in the star-studded ensemble are Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle; Paul Dano as Edward Nashton; Jeffrey Wright as the GCPD’s James Gordon; John Turturro as Carmine Falcone; Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson; Barry Keoghan as Officer Stanley Merkel; Jayme Lawson as mayoral candidate Bella Reál; with Andy Serkis as Alfred; and Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot.

The Batman is set to be released in theaters on March 4.
