THE PENGUIN Adds Four More To Its Cast Including A Major BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN Villain

The Penguin is currently shooting in New York City and more actors have been added to The Batman spin-off's cast today.

Among them is Luke Cage star Theo Rossi, and while there's no word on who he's playing, his presence in the HBO Max series is definitely exciting. He played Hernan "Shades" Alvarez in that Netflix series, but is also known for his work in Emily the Criminal, Sons of Anarchy, and Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead. Unfortunately, there's no word on who he's playing.

Deadline broke that story, but Rossi is not the only addition to the show.

According to Variety, Michael Zegen, James Madio, and Scott Cohen have all joined The Penguin in recurring roles. While official details about who they'll portray haven't been shared by Warner Bros. and HBO Max, the trade's sources have heard Zegen is playing Alberto Falcone.

Carmine's son, he's best known for appearing in the Batman: The Long Halloween comic book arc and was outed as the serial murderer known as The Holiday Killer.

Could Matt Reeves be laying the groundwork to adapt a version of that story in The Batman II? Here's hoping.

Zegen is best known for starring in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and previously played a gangster in Boardwalk Empire. As for Madio, you'll likely recognise him from The Offer and Band of Brothers, while Cohen counts the likes of The Americans and Billions among his credits.

Lauren LeFranc is serving as The Penguin's writer, executive producer, and showrunner, while Reeves executive produces as well.

Colin Farrell reprises his role as Oswald Cobblepot and will also be joined in the series by Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone, Clancy Brown as Salvatore Maroni, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O’Connell.

The Batman II is set to be released in theaters on October 3, 2025. The Penguin, meanwhile, will likely premiere on HBO Max sometime in 2024.

It would be great to see Giovanni Ribisi playing a younger Carmine in a Flashback about Thomas Wayne.
