Good news for the Batman franchise! On the set of Public Enemies, Johnny Depp was asked outright if he would be the Riddler in Batman 3, and he responded, "I'd definitely juggle it."

I'm not really jazzed about a Depp Riddler. Would like to see a Ryan Gosling Riddler though. Even the Hugo Weaving idea is growing on me. (props to InstigatorGIRL)

the way he looked during the interview is how they should make the riddler look if he played the part, because he looks good for the role. just have the joker referenced and explained to be in arkham, maybe even have a scene of him (unseen) behind bars in a padded cell, and put in stock audio of his laughing crazily from the last movie. to me it'd be enough.

i know what you mean, vonstallin, nolan obviously had bigger plans for joker, but i wouldnt feel right with that. the joker was ledger's crowning acheivement in my opinon, let him keep it awhile.

and holy shit that mad hatter pic is something i would have nightmares of coming out from under my bed when i was younger

I'm sorry but I have to take a very stiff stand on this...

Since rumors of the Riddler have been going around, Johnny Depp has already had his name mentioned early on for the role by many people...after visioning the kind of Riddler he could do, I honestly believe that there is NOBODY else that can match it...

The Riddler part can ONLY be played by Depp...everyone knows how amazing of an actor he is...he could easily do for the Riddler what Heath Ledger did for the Joker

Despite my disagreements with both LEEE777 and teabag regarding Routh, I think LEE777 is right on the money with Deathstroke or Deadshot. However, they're hired guns, who would play the client/financeer? In other words, the new puppet master???

Although I'd prefer Depp, do you people not think that there are absolutely no options of other actors out of the 6 1/2 billion people in the world to play certain roles???

It certainly opens doors for Catwoman to come onto the scene, but he doesn't seem sophisticated enough to contract out to Deathstroke. Deathstroke probably wouldn't want to work for a "mere thug" like Black Mask.

Leave the JOKER for say BATS 4 (maybe) keep it fresh!

It will tank if they put someone else as the JOKER straight away, doesn't matter whoever it is, it will tank the movie.

Haha Leee it seems I have to disagree with you on everything (first watchmen, then Wolverine, now this), but you're still the man ;)

I love the idea of Depp playing Riddler, or Joker, or both ;) Thats the only way I can think of him toping Ledger. Not going to happen, but it would be an interesting show. Though I do like Instigators idea of Hugo Weaving for Riddler too (or Mr. Freeze). Imagine a Weaving/ Depp combo with Riddler and Joker. That would be a cool Batman movie. Throw in Catwoman to mix things up and we're golden. I know that seems like a lot of villians, but this way we already have Joker established, Catwoman can be the love interest (and an interesting one at that), while the movie focuses on the introduction of the Riddler. I think Nolan can pull it off.

Still, your Deadshot/ Deathstroke idea would be cool. Especially if they were hired by someone who doesnt like to get their hands dirty. Maybe a sophisticated crimelord that calls himself the Penguin...

they should put harley quinn in it as a side villain trying to break out the joker threw out the movie, and at the end they can just show her blowing up the guards in arkham and walking towards the jokers cell and that could be the end of 3 bring back joker for 4.
