With arguably the biggest superhero movie since Avengers coming out in 2016, it would seem that WB plans to ramp up their merchandise for the film to even greater heights. It's no secret that Man Of Steel's merchandise alone made $200 million dollars before the movie was even released and Batman V Superman's should no doubt be able to match it. However, something notable about the Man Of Steel merch line was the lack of female characters. Similar to Black Widow was almost completely left out in most Age Of Ultron merchandise.
Not to worry, as CEO of WB Consumer Products Karen Tier confirmed that Wonder Woman will be a big part of the upcoming line. She doesn't go in-depth but she does say,
"Our comprehensive program will include Wonder Woman in the merchandise lines and in standalone products supporting the film," says McTier. "We have always had a robust line for Wonder Woman, and her role in this film and future films offers us more opportunities to feature her character and empowering attributes in many creative ways." This is definitely great news, especially considering how unreperesented female characters are now within comicbook merchandise. Overall, this is definitely a step in the right direction for all merchandise and hopefully it encourages other companies to follow suit.
