SILVER & BLACK Now Rumored To Be The Setup For An All-Female SPIDER-VERSE Team-Up Movie

If a new rumor is to be believed, Sony's Silver & Black movie will build towards an all-female team-up flick, which will also include the likes of Spider-Woman, Stunner, and Dusk. Check it out...

Wonder Woman is now showing across the US, and if Diana's first solo adventure does as well as it's expected to at the box office, it will undoubtedly pave the way for more female-centric comic book movies.

Sony Pictures clearly wants a piece of that action, as the studio recently announced that a Silver & Black ( Silver Sable and Black Cat) movie was in the works, and now a new rumor suggests they may be taking things to a whole new level with an all-female "Spider-Verse" movie.

According to Splash Report, Sony is planning an Avengers-style ensemble movie that would feature only the women of the studio's burgeoning Spider-Man universe. In addition to Black Cat and Silver Sable, the team would consist of Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman), *Charlotte Witter (Stunner), Sarah Ehret (Jackpot) and Cassie St. Commons (Dusk).

Though the source has had some good info in the past, we'll have to take this as a rumor for now - but be sure to let us know what you think of the concept in the usual place.

*In the comics, Stunner's real name is Angelina Brancale while Witter is another incarnation of Spider-Woman, so we're not certain which character they actually mean here.

@IkeHatesMike -

Easy, response to Wonder Woman.

@Scarilian - No, response to Gotham Sirens. A movie as awful as Suicide Squad still delivers major bank (over $700 MM) because of serious eye candy.

@IkeHatesMike - because they can, apparently... This is totally bizarre.

@BackwardGalaxy - Because some executives who spend their time reading Hentai told their underlings to create a universe, ya know, like Marvel. Except that these are like D list and Sony has not demonstrated the ability to create even a solar system, let alone a Universe.

@GeneralZod -

I suppose, then again weirder things have happened such as Oceans Eight being conceived the same time as the female Ghostbusters movie.

@GeneralZod - Or the new all female version of the hangover with Scarlett Johansson.

The female-led movie tsunami is coming.

Sony better not [frick] up the goodwill that Wonder Woman established.

@Goldboink - Right! It's like making a Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl film U where Batman never existed. The characters are so tied to Batman it simply doesn't work. Same with Spidey. These characters are inherently tied to his world but the studio just sees green.

@Buckster10 - they may wind up selling the film division before this gets made

@Goldboink - They should transfer all of these projects to the MCU. Stark vs Ozborn would work out great. They could do an MCU version of the Thunderbolts
