Looking to capitalize on his talents, Netflix has signed a second deal with Black Panther co-writer Joe Robert Cole who will make his official directorial debut with the drama All Day and a Night. Cole actually wrote the script for the project as well.

According to THR, the drama is "set in three parallel narratives and follows a young criminal after his arrival in prison as he looks back on the days preceding his arrest and the circumstances of his childhood to find clues to his way forward in life and his survival."

The People v. O.J. Simpsons: American Crime Story producers Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson are producing via their Color Force banner. Jared Ian Goldman, who also produces Netflix's The Punisher series, is also on board as producer. Jonathan Monepare will executive produce.

As previously mentioned, this is Cole's second deal with Netflix. He's attached to write and produce Failsafe, a Vault Comics title, with Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan attached to star. Cole, who participated in Marvel's in-house writers program, co-wrote the Black Panther screenplay with Ryan Coogler.

There's no word on when we can expect All Day and a Night to debut on Netflix as it's still in early pre-production.

He won an EMMY for his The People vs OJ work. Did a great job with Panther too. Good for him.

I believe Cole's directorial debut is a movie called Amber Lake that came out in 2011.

Sounds pretty interesting. I loved both The People vs OJ and Black Panther. Hope this is good too.
