With little in the way of competition, Marvel Studios' Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has managed to hold on to the #1 spot at the U.S. box office for the fourth weekend in a row - the first movie to do so since Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Christmas action flick Violent Night did pretty well since hitting theatres on Friday ($13.3M), but not well enough to dethrone Ryan Coogler's powerful sequel, which took in $17.6M. Marvel's final Phase 4 film now sits at $394M domestic and $733 worldwide.

Wakanda Forever's next global milestone is $800M, but can it hope to match its predecessor's mighty $1 billion+ global haul? It's difficult to say - especially with James Cameron's Avatar: The Way of Water looming - but a lot of analysts seem to feel somewhere around the $800M - $850M mark is a more realistic outcome.

In other BO news, Disney's Strange World continues to flounder, and has taken in just $42.3M globally so far.

In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Shuri (Letitia Wright), M’Baku (Winston Duke), Okoye (Danai Gurira), and the Dora Milaje (including Florence Kasumba), fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of a hidden undersea nation, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena, and Alex Livanalli.
