We're now less than a month away from the simultaneous theatrical and Disney+ release of Black Widow, and tickets for what will most likely be Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson) final MCU adventure went on sale earlier today.

Now, Dolby Cinema and RealD 3D have released their exclusive poster art, giving us all-new looks at the movie's main players.

Director Cate Shortland spoke to Fandango about the release of the movie, which suffered significant delays as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The filmmaker expressed how excited she is that fans are finally going to get the chance to experience Black Widow, which she confirms will be a "little bit" darker than previous MCU installments.

"First, we looked at things like No Country for Old Men," she said when asked what other films inspired the overall tone. "And then we looked at things like Thelma and Louise. And the Marvel film — people that have seen it have said it reminds them of it — [is] Captain America: The Winter Soldier."

Back in March, Disney officially announced that Black Widow would debut on Disney+ Premier Access at the same time it hits theaters. The Marvel prequel was set for a theatrical release on May 7 before being pushed back to July 9, and will now be made available to Disney+ subscribers for an extra $30.

Black Widow finds Natasha Romanoff "confronting the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger. Joining Johansson in the new feature film are Florence Pugh as Yelena, David Harbour as Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz as Melina."

Do you guys plan on checking out Black Widow in theaters or on Disney+? Let us know in the usual place.

@BlackBeltJones - good. That’s what I wanted from Falcon’s show, got a little sure but way more dialogue. I’m sure this movie will be the right “winter soldier” balance. Can’t wait!

It didn't know it was possible but that first poster really looks like a spy-movie poster

Winter Soldier is still my overall favourite of the 23 movies so far, so, any comparison to that has me hyped / intrigued, so, hopefully it holds up against it.

Send Natasha Black Widow out with a bang of a movie before getting us prepped to get used to Pugh for the future.

Number of times I have seen the word "Darker" lately about upcoming Marvel movie(s) I have started to wonder if Marvel is changing their genre from "MCU: Marvel Comedy Universe" to MDU: Marvel Dark Universe.

Since all those kids who loved and laughed at their movies 5-10+ years ago are growing up and getting into their teens. Marvel definitely needs to change their formula to keep their old(er)fan base for sure!

I'm genuinely not quite sure how to interpret your post. Chances are it's an ever so slightly more subtle take on the old "Marvel kiddie comedy movies lol" spiel a lot of the "mature" SnyderDC fans used to jerk each other off to, in which case... ewww.

@Kyos - It's weird.....like adults can't enjoy some comedy and light hearted themes as adults? As we have from reading comics where a lot of stories are that way, DC and Marvel lol.

But also have dark, emotional themes as well.

@WakandanQueen

Captain Marvel they looked at Terminator 2.

Civil War they looked at Se7en.

I wouldn't expect to see much NCFOM in BW.

@regularmovieguy - ohhh Yep I see it. On CM, there was

A child. Just like on T2.

And on Civil War

I’m at a loss. Ah yes! Zola. The head in a box.

Like how this seems like it will be just as gritty as Winter Soldier if not more.

It gives me a lot of confidence to hear so many comparisons to TWS- not only because that was such a great movie, but also because it was one of the first ones that really had a different feel (something that Marvel fortunately seems to be taking efforts in doing for Phase Four).
