BOX OFFICE: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Heading For Huge $80+ Million Debut

There's been a lot of positive buzz surrounding Anthony and Joe Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it looks like that will translate into ticket sales as a new report states that the highly anticipated will open to a whopping $80+ million next month!

Another year, another hit for Marvel Studios. According to The Hollywood Reporter, pre-release tracking for Captain America: The Winter Soldier indicates that the sequel will earn upwards of $80 million when it debuts in North America on April 4th. Some even believe that it will reach as much as $85 million, just like Thor: The Dark World did last November. This is another example of how beneficial The Avengers was to these solo movies; Captain America: The First Avenger opened with a still very impressive $65 million back in 2011. There has already been talk of a third Captain America movie from the Russo brothers, a good indication that Marvel Studios are VERY happy with what they've done with the character. How much do you guys think it will earn?

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Then, you [frick]ers blame other people for bashing you marvelites.

Retards like you that give Marvel a bad reputation. Same with LOTR fans give Tolkien a bad reputation.

MrBlackJack hit the nail right on the head. Couldn't agree more.

CBM is literally one of the only sites where the users revert back into the same. exact. arguments. over and over again. It's so ridiculous. Obviously the Marvel vs DC rivalry goes back to the comics, but who really gives a crap about which studio is "winning"?

As long as either studio gives us quality movies, then who cares? The money-making business executives in charge of either company certainly don't care how many fanboys are siding with them. But Hell will probably freeze over before the majority of people on CBM realize how dumb this argument really is.

Let's save the flame wars for articles with Marvel 1 : DC 0 in the title. Haha.
