Captain America: Fallen Son, Captain America: Secret Wars, Captain America: Civil War...these are all popular suggestions for the title of Captain America 3, and while we wait to hear what the movie will actually be called, Anthony and Joe Russo have weighed in on one storyline they don't ever believe will be brought to the big screen. "It’s complex," Joe says in the video below when asked about Civil War. "There are a lot of characters. Marvel doesn’t have ownership of some of the key players in that. [...] I don’t run Marvel so I can’t say that it won’t happen, but I would say that it is highly unlikely." They also comment on a number of other topics, including recent reports that Chris Evans no longer wants to play the Star Spangled Avenger once his six-picture deal reaches an end. "Chris has always said that he will always do Marvel movies," adds Anthony. "There was never an issue in terms of his future in the Marvel franchise. He is there and very committed to the character." Well, he's committed while he's committed! Will that still be the case after The Avengers 3? For now, I guess we'll have to wait and see. What do you guys think?

@Staypuffed why would secret wars be adapted in a captain america movie? is it because these guys said they would love to adapt the secret wars to film. Thats like saying i hope they make a Thor: Planet Hulk movie cause the director who made thor really wants to do a planet hulk movie.

Judging by the way Winter Soldier depicted Captain America escaping SHIELD headquarters and becoming a fugitive, an iconic scene in Civil War, I kinda don't think Marvel would want that happening this early if they had the intention of doing it later. That and the fact that there isn't a large enough superhero community makes me think it's not too likely.

I hope Chris Evans sticks around as Cap for a while. I know he's keen to move away from acting and into directing (and possibly only starring in the films he directs), but sticking with Marvel for a bit longer could be beneficial, especially as the money he earns from Captain America could also help fund his directorial endeavors.

Plus, I don't wanna see Steve get recast in this version of the MCU, and I never really liked Bucky as Cap, he's a bit too 'dark' a character in my opinion to work as Captain America - I think he's best as The Winter Soldier. Maybe Falcon would be OK as a replacement for Cap, but Falcon's a cool character in his own right, so maybe he doesn't need to change identities like that. Winter Soldier and Falcon (as played by Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie) could each lead their own movies without wearing Cap's costume.

If Evans's new movie is a success, I believe he'll see out his Marvel contract and will then stick to directing and starring in his own movies. Sure, it would be smart to take a huge pay increase from Marvel and fit his own stuff between his appearances as Cap (sort of like what I'm guessing Affleck will do with Batman), but my prediction is that Steve sacrifices himself to save the world during the final battle with Thanos and Stan gets his own movie as the new Captain America shortly after. I'd miss the hell out of Evans, but always preferred Bucky-Cap in the comics...

Chris Evans has a six movie deal and wants to get out of the role.
So, like I said before, he will get old in Cap 3.
Falcon gets to be the new Cap in Avengers 3 while Evans still has his role as old Steve Rogers, who will be the head of SHIELD.

i think chris will stay on but not for any more captain america films. i can see him in a fury sort of role poping up here and there and then appearing in an avengers film.

Civil War was one or two clever scenes/ideas wrapped in a bunch of crap, with so many players doing so many stupid, uncharacteristic things. Glad to see it's off the table in the MCU.

And it's funny how so many on here have a direct line to Chris Evans' brain on this topic. He's said quite a few contradictory things over the past year or two, yet some are either convinced a) he's completely sick of playing Cap and can't wait for the madness to end after Avengers 3 OR b) he loves the character and is likely to sign on for a few more appearances at some point. Truth is, we just don't know right now.

I think we all knew were weren't going to get an adaption of Civil War anytime soon.

BUT...

We could get some Easter eggs alluding to it, like a scene where Maria Hill is upset about all the damage the Avengers have done, and she feels they need to be owned by the government so there can be a better handle on them.

I'd like to see that.

Marvel Studios could take inspiration from "Civil War" and change a few things. I'd be fine with a Civil War situation with in the MCU.

Although, i am disappointed that Marvel Studios does not own the rights to Spider-man and the Fantastic Four.

However, i am still excited for the MCU and Captain America 3.
