Variety has revealed that Anthony and Joe Russo's Captain America: Civil War will take advantage of brand new IMAX technology to film sequences in the 2016 blockbuster. Around 15 minutes of footage will be shot with new 2D digital cameras, which stand alongside the company's existing 3D digital cameras and 2D film cameras. "We like being on the cutting edge of technology, and we like to enhance storytelling with technology in a way that pushes the narrative forward creatively," explained Joe Russo. "When you're working on a Marvel film, there's a sense of showmanship that goes along with the movies, and no exhibitor exploits that better than IMAX." This marks the first time that Marvel has utilised the format, though Guardians of the Galaxy was released in IMAX last year and Avengers: Age of Ultron is set to follow suit. Are you excited to see the Russo brothers make use of the format?
