Road To INFINITY WAR: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER Concept Art Features Howling Commandos & More
This batch of Captain America: The First Avenger concept art puts the spotlight on key moments from the movie, The Howling Commandos, Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, the USO show, and more. Check it out...
Avengers: Infinity War is set to be released later this year and with so much of the movie shrouded in secrecy, fans continue speculating about what could be on the way when Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the Guardians of the Galaxy assemble to battle Thanos. We're obviously going to have to wait and see but one of the most intriguing aspects so far is what exactly Steve Rogers will be getting up to.
He gave up his Captain America identity in Civil War but will no doubt return to that before too long. For now, we're taking a look at where it all began for the hero in Captain America: The First Avenger.
This latest batch of concept art shows a number of key moments from the movie in the form of keyframes, while we also have alternate designs for members of The Howling Commandos, Howard Stark, Peggy Carter, and more. These are all seriously awesome and may make you think differently about the 2011 release. So, to check them out, simply click either one of the buttons down below.
Captain America Performs At The USO
You have to give Marvel credit for including that iconic moment featuring Captain America punching "Hitler" square in the jaw in this movie and here we see how that part of the USO show was realised.
USO Girls
These scantily clad women were part of the USO show and surrounded Steve Rogers as he delivered the rousing speeches and shows which were meant to inspire men stuck in the trenches.
The Howling Commandos
The Howling Commandos arguably didn't get anywhere near as much screentime in Captain America: The First Avenger as they should have but the team sure does look good together in this piece!
World War II Propaganda
That "Star Spangled Man" montage was a highlight of this movie and this piece of artwork shows Steve Rogers performing for the camera as he stars in films which were shown to the public.
Captain America's Shield(s)
Howard Stark sure did go through a lot of different designs for Captain America's shield, eh? Before you wonder, none of these really bear a resemblance to the one Cap will have in Avengers: Infinity War!
Steve Rogers Meets His Fellow Soldiers
This fantastic shot of Captain America shows the hero standing alongside his fellow soldiers and it's a shame that Marvel didn't dedicate a little more time to exploring life in the trenches.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier revealed that Arnim Zola's experiments left Bucky with powers which meant he could survive the fall off that train. Here, we see how those were performed.
Marvel explored a lot of different looks for Peggy Carter in Captain America: The First Avenger and many of these ended up on the big screen in one form or another. They're all really good designs!
Steve Rogers' Transformation
This piece was clearly created before Chris Evans was cast in the movie and when Marvel was trying to figure out what Steve Rogers should look like once he was transformed into an Avenger.
The First-Ever Stark Expo
Long before Agent Coulson showed off his flying car in the form of Lola, Howard Stark attempted to debut a version during the first-ever Stark Expo. Here, we get a glimpse of that scene as concept art.
Captain America Learns Of HYDRA's Plans
This gorgeous shot shows Captain America discovering the Red Skull's massive arsenal of weaponry which he intends to use to turn the tide of the war. The fact he's dropped his shield is a nice touch.
Arnim Zola
Arnim Zola didn't resemble his robotic comic book counterpart until Captain America: The Winter Soldier but here we see some designs for the version who served as the Red Skull's lackey.
The USO Show
That shot of Captain America lifting a motorbike above his head was fun to see on screen and this piece of concept art sheds some light on how Marvel went about dreaming up this entire sequence.
Dominic Cooper's Howard Stark probably deserved better than some cameo appearances in Agent Carter after this movie was released and we'll hopefully see him in the MCU again one day.
Pre-Serum Steve Rogers
One of the most memorable shots in the entire movie, here we see the young Steve Rogers imagining what it would be like if he were healthy enough to enlist in the army and serve his country.
