“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” features an outstanding supporting cast that includes Sebastian Stan (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Black Swan”) as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie (“The Hurt Locker,” “Million Dollar Baby”) as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Cobie Smulders (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “How I Met Your Mother”) as Agent Maria Hill, Frank Grillo (“Zero Dark Thirty”) as Brock Rumlow and Georges St-Pierre (“Death Warrior”) as Georges Batroc. Rounding out the talented cast are Hayley Atwell (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) as Peggy Carter, Toby Jones (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “The Hunger Games”) as Arnim Zola, Emily VanCamp (“The Ring 2,” “Revenge”) as Agent 13 and Maximiliano Hernández (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Thor”) as Agent Jasper Sitwell.

I think that scene where Alexander Pierce is talking about " Your work has been a gift to mankind" and then showing the scene with the same coloured room as to where The Winter Soldier is being strapped down on makes me speculate that Alexander knows about The Winter Soldier and could be a double agent whose infiltrating SHIELD.

The Winter Soldier has been assassinating politicians and other people for like 70 years! I was thinking he was gonna assassinate the Senator from Iron Man 2 in this movie since there were set photos of him

i would find it so just weird and kind of cool that maybe winter soldier was behind the JFK assassination and weird because the Jfk assassination seems to be ba big thing in DOFP

Winter Soldier shaped the century - meaning SHIELD picked him up and used him for all types of dirty/covert ops that were less than moral.

Alexander Pierce, working for HYDRA, has him go rogue assasinating key figures to position himself in charge of SHIELD.

BTW, watching these awkward interviews with Stan, Pratt, etc. makes Hiddleston seem even more eloquent, charming, and brilliant when he so deftly articulates himself in the same situations.

@PsychoManiacJacky Nice catch!

I knew Alexander Pierce was dirty. Conspiring with Winter Soldier to take out Nick Fury.

This plan has HYDRA written all over it.

@dethpillow

that's actually a good theme, add a good jingle to it and yeah it would sound great. I would imagine the sounds of bells like um Jingle Bell or something very cheery.

In the comics they mentioned several assassinations he was responsible for that were detrimental to the United States and its allies in the Cold War:

Cairo, 1955 - UN diplomatic negotiations team
West Berlin, 1955 - NATO General James Keller
Madripoor, 1956 - British Ambassador Dalton Gaines
Algeria, 1956 - French Defense Minister Jacques Dupuy
Paris, 1956 - Algerian Peace envoy
Mexico City, 1957 - US Colonel Jefferson Hart
London, 1960 - Top MI6 agent
United States, 1973 - Senator Harry Baxtor
Switzerland, 1976 - Vice-Chancellor of Wakanda
Middle East, 1983-1988 - Various unspecified missions against US interests

Who knows how different his resume will look in the movie, but add in his actions in WWII with Cap and I'd absolutely call that shaping the century.
