It's almost safe to say Captain America: The Winter Soldier is in its final editing stages, especially with supposed strong test screening results spawning rumblings of another installment, but there's enough post-production time remaining for what Radio Times describes as a "ground-breaking movie tie-in." Apparently readers of the UK magazine can choose which of 10 classic British/Irish television shows should appear in the upcoming Marvel sequel. "A scene in the film will focus on pages from Cap’s notebook detailing what he’s missed during his enforced absence – which includes some great TV," notes Radio Times. "And that’s where you come in. Choose up to three of the ten shows listed in the box below to help decide which one will appear actually on screen in the pages of Captain America’s diary." The choices include Doctor Who, Sherlock, Fawlty Towers, Downtown Abbey, Mrs Brown's Boys, Coronation Street, The X Factor, Big Brother and The Only Way is Essex. Make the jump here to cast your vote! What do you think?

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

BATMANIAC AND CHARLIE-you do know this film is gonna have humor in it, the russos have said that it is apolitical thriller so in order to have thrills, you need to have stakes so u cant keep making light of the situation, also its probably for this scene

The scene starts at predawn with Sam Wilson jogging alone (or so he thinks) around the Tidal Basin of Washington, D.C., when a "Solitary Figure" swiftly passes him three times before Sam stops and sits tiredly beside a tree. Steve Rogers is then revealed as that "incredibly fast" mystery figure.

Now at dawn, the dialogue ensues as the two introduce themselves. We find out that Sam, who is wearing an "Air National Guard" sweatshirt, is much aware of who Steve Rogers really is. Sam tells him, "Must've freaked you out, coming home after the whole defrosting thing?" Steve responds that it takes some time to get used to, and Sam then reveals his own post-war stress: "I was only gone four years, but when I got back, my dreams just...stopped. I slept okay - nobody was shooting at me - but when I got up in the morning, it's like..." Steve agrees, finishing Sam's sentence, "[like]...there was nothing there to remember.". They look at each other; a connection.

Steve Rogers notices Sam Wilson's "Air National Guard" sweatshirt and asks him what unit he's with. Sam replies, "58th Pararescue, but I'm working at the V.A. (Veterans Affairs) now." Other rather humorous lines are exchanged between the two, soon revealing that Cap has been keeping a list of "modern" things to check out. Attempting to add to the list what Sam hilariously suggested: fluffernutters or Marvin Gaye's Trouble Man soundtrack (the script lists the two as alternatives), Steve pulls out an actual pad, where a portion reads, "Nirvana, Thai Food, Star Wars?" Steve, eventually, gets a "Crimson Alert. Extraction Imminent" on his cell phone and then tells Sam that he has to go. "Thanks for the run...(shaking his hand) you know, if you call that running," Steve says. Sam replies, "Oh, it's like that? Hey, [if] you ever wanna drop by the V.A., [and] make me look completely awesome in front of the girl at the desk, let me know." Steve will keep it in mind.

A black Corvette pulls up beside the curb near Sam & Steve, and its pa##enger window rolls down to reveal Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow. "Either of you fellas know where I could find the Smithsonian? I'm supposed to pick up a fossil," she yells. Steve grins and gets in the car. Natasha and Sam exchange looks and an innocent "Hey" and "Hi" before Steve looks back at Sam saying, "Can't run everywhere." Natasha then hits the gas and the corvette "growls" away. Scene ends.

Those aren't rubbish choices, but there's so many series that are just as good.
Series like Luther, Spooks or even slightly teeny shows like Being Human.
This list of choices is so ridiculously American, it's not even funny.

The movie is going to be very funny, with many jokes and it's gonna be awesome. I don't know what you expected.
I bet most of the jokes will be from Mackie.

Weird choices!!

Where's Blackadder??? Only Fools and Horses??? Monty Python????

Just because of the historical and cultural significance I probably choose either Dr Who or Fawlty Towers...or Corrie as a long shot.

@Nibs - I love the idea that Peep Show may have been in it ;O)

Fawlty Towers is a f*cking classic. There's a lot of good stuff that isn't listed here..

Blackadder, Only Fools and Horses, Dad's Army, Monty Python (that goes without saying)..

But, yeah.. I don't really give a shit what he watches.

I think it's clear it'll be Sherlock, Doctor Who and either Father Ted or Fawlty Towers. Maybe Mrs. Browns Boys too but the rest can be forgotten.

Cmon its gotta be Dr. Who. Not only do their audiences crossover but how fitting a show about a time traveler and the isolation of being an "alien" would be to Caps story. If not that then I'd like to see Cap scratch his head trying to make sense of Flying Circus.
