Drained of the Super Soldier Serum that gave him his strength, speed and endurance – Steve Rogers is no longer fit to wield the shield. But there must always be a Captain America – and his trusted friend and partner Sam Wilson is ready and able to take the job. With Steve’s son Ian at his side as the new Nomad, he’ll spread his wings as the new star spangled Avenger!

“I’ve been having a lot of fun writing Sam,” says Rick Remender in an interview with Marvel.com. “It’s a completely different attitude. The fact that he’s not a soldier shifts thing up a bit. Sam’s not going to be Steve. Steve can be very rigid. That can be kind of joyless at times, whereas Sam is absolutely not that.”

The threat of Hydra is growing, as the terrorist band has infiltrated the Marvel Universe completely. Even worming their way into the super hero community. Anyone can be a threat, and no one is to be trusted. But what is Hydra’s ultimate goal? United by this new and more vicious Hydra, Captain America’s rogues gallery prepared to strike – aiming at the new and untested Captain America and Nomad.

i think they need to give him some device that goes on his arms that can shoot and catch the shield while flying.

@Primordiac Agreed I think the googles need to go. If anything use something similar to the Bucky's Cap suit.

So...essentially anyone can be Cap and throw the shield with Cap's skill? whether they have the super soldier serum or not? Or did Falcon somehow get the serum in the last few years? (if he didn't, then it defies their logic and this thing is dumb)

We'll see how it goes. Might be interesting. As long as Steve Rogers comes back. I'd also like to see the Nomad costume!

Nothing against Sam Cap, but i kinda liked where Hawkeye was the only other person to successfully throw Cap's shield. Still, great artwork.

At first I was like "Dat art!" then I saw it was Immonen, and I was all like "Well, this will be great for one arc...also, no more All New X-Men for Immonen.

I like Sam as the new Cap, but I hate that outfit. He looks more like an American Eagle than a Captain America. I would have designed him a classic Cap spysuit with limited gliding capability. Ground that sucker for a while and show him as a hand-to-hand guy.

Ok at first I thought that this was pretty gay, but I'm actually thinking this could be the next big superhero, I mean back when I was growing up, one of the big fantasies I had was being able to swing through manhattan. So that being said, this does the same thing for me, it connects to my inner child, so imma give this a look into. BTW IM PHUCKING RAGING OVER ERIZA MILLET AS FLASH!!!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

They should have gone with a full cowl, I don't mint the goggles but the fact that the top of his head is exposed just looks silly in my opinion.

Trying sooo hard to have a viable book with a black character. War Machine tanked...Black Panther tanked...cant really think of any successful black heros that can carry a book...am i wrong. Must be a lot of democrats working comics production...lots of community organizers.

"If you wont support a book with a leading black character in it, well we will just have to replace a white one with a black character"....talk about forcing an agenda....sheesh!

HellBoyzBetter

@jimoakley666, This is the Disneyification of Marvel. Basically instead of just making Falcon the leader of the Avengers they called him Captain America to placate to public opinion just as they turned took the mantle of Thor away from Thor and gave it to a woman. I wonder how pissed people would be if they made Blade white or Korean... That would be a big deal but changing a white male character is supposed to be totally ok. Double standards are flippin stupid. People say it's "It's just a comicbook." What if they remade The Empire Strikes Back with Michael B Jordan as Luke or remade Indiana Jones with Anna Ferris Playing Indy? You think people were pissed about Gredo shooting first...
Mysterion
Mysterion - 10/15/2014, 1:35 PM
And I agree....lose the goggles
ScionStorm
ScionStorm - 10/15/2014, 1:48 PM
@RodimusPryme He's not even the first black Captain America...

And we already Sif, Valkyrie and even Thor Girl who could use some contemporary character development. But I guess Aaron just doesn't care.

The changes are literally breaking ZERO ground here.

Falcon has always been in the running for the mantle of Captain America. It's not something new or sudden. The only reason Sam or Hawkeye for that matter declined the offer to take up the shield previously is because they thought it was disrespectful due to Steve being so recently deceased.

Foolkiller - 10/15/2014, 2:20 PM
The shield looks a bit awkward with the wings.

Hey I know things are always changing and reverting. I just think Disney is making this one more of a permanent thing. I don't read Blade. I like the movies and I'm telling you if they reverse "Micheal B. Jordan"ed that shit. People would be pissed. No gives a damn about comicbook Blade.
