lame. Remind me how is it clever again? Because giving Indy Cap's shield and sticking Redskull in the background definitely isn't. Hey i have a clever idea for a movie! Let's give RoboCop Thor's hammer!?!?!

Oh man this guy is a d.ouche! He knows nothing about comic-books or comic-book fans if he thinks any of us have a palpable sense of humor. Eejit.

The last Indy sucked. Ford is too old at this point for Indy and Laboof can suck it. Rip Indiana Jones.

What a bunch of turds.

This illustration is very cool, and done in a nice style too. Indiana Jones could totally have been involved in a post war caper involving elements from Captain America's mythology. The idea that he came across Cap's shield as a lost artifact totally fits into the whole concept of Indiana Jones.

I could see it as some one-shot Mike Mignola comic project or something like that.

The people who post here are just unimaginative malcontents. I trust that the creator of this illustration -- if he's reading -- knows that, and takes their comments as coming from such.

Well well well Harry, or should i say "Mister Hipp". It seems you can't take criticisms gracefully. And as far as labeling us malcontents or being negative just because it's cool i would have to disagree. I am very fond of mash ups: Mortal Kombat/DC Marvel/Capcom Weezer/Muppets. I could go on and on. This one in my opinion happens to be shit and lacks the imagination and creativity that you assert we do not have. I think comic book fans in general are probably more receptive to art in general than most people. We look at art every time we read and as far as imagination i would have to say there is not very many things that can compete with the imagination of comic books. This site is living proof. Look how many fan sites there are look how many fan books and series are written and posted every day. I suggest you find another medium to vent your "creative" impulses because this one does not seem to suit you.

HEY.....you put your chocolate in my peanut butter!

I think you are a bigger douche if you lash out at people who don't share your same opinion. I think most can appreciate the thought, effort and creativity put in this but they don't have to like it.
To me it takes two great concepts and makes them into one "meh" concept. Its like Star Wars and Star Trek together, it ain't right.
I hope my opinion isn't wrong.

I've actually thought about this a little more. I could get behind the Idea that not long after the "death" or dissapearance of Captain America,I.J. finds himself in northern Germany or the Arctic, whatever, on a search for a random relic and stumbles upon the shield, then later in a random encounter comes across the Red Skull as Indy always finds trouble. The Red Skull sees Indy with the shield and becomes hell bent on getting from him. I believe the battle between Indiana Jones and The Red Skull would be an epic and somehow fitting end to Indy.
So kudos "Mister Hipp" , you sparked my imagination.
No biggie but, the shield should have two red rings.

@elephantknowsbest -- I had to reread your comment before I realized that you were implying that I was the artist.

Why is it when someone speaks up for someone else on the internet, it's always assumed that it's actually the same person under a pseudonym, too gutless to show themselves? Or is that just a joke you're making?

You're probably right and I overreacted a bit to some of the more dismissive remarks and people responding to the wording of the post rather than offering constructive criticism.

It's not that I don't think people have a right to their opinions (@Superunknown), and I wasn't saying that everyone who posts here is an idiot -- I think every dozen posts or so, someone actually says something genuinely thoughtful and valid -- and I CERTAINLY wasn't saying that comics, or those who create them, are unimaginative, so don't interpret a comment about people who post on these forums as being directed at everyone and everything having to do with comics ever.

I just thought people were pretty hard on the guy for...you know...sharing his artwork. And if it's impossible for you to imagine how I could feel for another person and stick up for them without being them or knowing them personally, I would hate to be you.

@HarryBloodscreaming,Just to be clear, my first comments are only a general statement and not directed at anyone in paticular. While they may apply to some of your comments and are somewhat inspired by them, they are not just for you.

If your gonna put yourself out there, you are a target for critisizm, every artist knows that.

BTW @HarryBloodscreaming I think it was your comment that got me thinkin about the possible story for I.J., so thank you sir. Still not sure I love the art style though.

@Harry Yeah I was a joking I couldn't give two shits about you or the artist. I was actually just bored earlier waiting to start some homework. I guess I just felt like being argumentative and because you were the only one really that admired the work it made you a bigger target. Your enthusiasm for creating a story and back ground made me think you must have put a lot of thought into analyzing the painting. That, contrasted with everyone else's opinion made it easier for me to claim that you were Mister Hipp.

HarryBloodscreaming - 5/5/2011, 10:34 PM
@elephantknowsbest -- Yeah, that's pretty lame of me to, you know, actually look at something someone has spent time and effort on and think about it (and actually, the story and background are sort of implicit in the art; that's what makes it so good...I didn't have to think too hard about it because it's already there in the imagery).

And not to be argumentative, but you've already given more than "two shits" with your three comments, haven't you?

I would buy this as a pocket book, and Indy has several very creative and intelligent book adventures.

Cap + indy + rocketeer should be part of the invaders!

@Maia87- Alternatively, the title could be Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Wakanda? Of course that precludes Black Panther would be in the movie too. lol
