While attending Entertainment Weekly’s CapeTown Film Festival for a screening of Iron Man 3, Marvel president Kevin Feige offered brief updates for the studios’ upcoming cinematic endeavors. During the Q&A, hosted by Geoff Boucher, Feige updated the status of Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier, while boasting about Guardians of the Galaxy, and addressing plans, if any, for Daredevil; as well as the possibility of a CBM centered on a female character.

“Thor has finished filming, and we’re in the cutting room now,” he said. “I was in editorial for most of the day on that movie. Right downstairs, below editorial, are stages in Manhattan Beach where Captain America: The Winter Soldier is filming right now. This is the middle of our fifth week of production on Cap.” [Feige] talked about how Falcon brings out a fun side of Cap that no one else does. Concerning Guardians of the Galaxy, Feige is excited by the prospect of quickening the pace established by the Avengers mega-franchise. “We’re starting to see the cohesiveness come back. And with something like Guardians, there’s so much potential because, outside of the dedicated fans, almost no one knows about them. Avengers was a nice slow burn, introducing characters and leading up to a movie with all of them in it. I really liked the idea of going to the other side of the universe and building a team in a single movie.”

Kevin Feige was asked about the possibility of a Marvel film focused on a female character.
“We have a number of candidates from the comics and from the movies we’ve already made. It’s just a matter of finding the right storyline, the right filmmaker, the right time.” Someone in the audience yelled “She-Hulk!” Feige responded, “She-Hulk would be pretty great.”

Given that the character rights of Matthew Murdock, aka Daredevil, recently reverted from Fox Studios to Marvel Studios, Feige was then asked about potential plans for The Man Without Fear.
“There comes a time in contracts where, if a studio is done making the movies, [the characters] come home,” he explained. “That doesn’t mean we’re going to make another movie. But it means they’re back in the fold, which is where we want them to be.”

They are missing an opportunity here I think with DD. They could make a action/drama show much like Arrow and get a big crowd. Perhaps in the future though. After all they could test some characters though Shield to see if they could do their own show.

Sorry for the confusion you guys, but the Phase 4 bit about Daredevil was speculation from EW; not a part of the quote from Feige.

DD will probably come out in the pase 3 era but not as a movie that leads up to TA3.

Here hoping that Heroes for Hire gets a chance. You have a mysticism side, kung fu side and street fight stuff to show. Which I really wanna see. Doctor Strange, Ant-Man and HEROES FOR HIRE are the things I want to see the most!
Also, they should throw hints of DD on Marvel Movies.

Someone in the MCu Reading in a newspaper: "The Lawyer known as Matt Murdock in the case of the year" or something like that.

It would be cool if marvel could do something with DD along the lines like the walking dead. (I mention walking dead the quality, I'm amazed it got made still) Have a well done hour long show, like a 12-15 episode seasons. Law and Order/Police Drama but with Superheros. Of course you know I'm going to bring up Bendis, he is the reason I fell in love with the character. A couple of seasons of based off his stuff would be great not mention Brubaker or Waid now. It would be cool if they could do a Marvel Knights type tv series with some of the darker characters. If I'm not mistaken marvel has the rights to the Punisher and Blade back. That could be interesting! All I can do is Dreeeam Dreeam Dream.................

This whole DD situation should serve as a warning to Marvel Studios fanboys of
what could happen if they got their wish and "everybody came home."

Its clear DD just isn't a big enough property to make it worth Marvel's time making a movie out of it.

If Marvel "Paid the 2 or 3 billion" to get Spider-Man back as
The GodKiller suggested, you could bet your ass they would fill their slate
with Spider-Man,Ironman,The X-Men,Fantastic Four (if they got them back from FOX) The Avengers,Thor and CAP movies while disregarding GOTG,Antman,Heroes for Hire,Dr. Strange,Black Panther,Inhumans and She-Hulk projects.

GuardianDevil

Daredevil could be huge why doesnt Marvel capitalize on this. My gosh...

Daredevil is a cooler, more intetestiresting, deeper and more emotionally compelling character and just all around BETTER character than Thor, Iron Man, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Hawkeye/Widow, Ms. Marvel, Guardians of the Galaxy, Dr. Strange and all of the characters that Marvel Studios owns aside from Hulk and MAYBE Captain America.

So, why does it look like all those are gonna get cool movies sooner than him??? Idk??

I think it could be pretty cool if The Avengers 2 and 3 would be two parted story ala Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3.

The second could end in a cliffhanger. The Avengers finish the enemy (was it a Masters of Evil or Ultron or who ever) and after that giant space ships arive on Earth´s atmosphere. Carring Thanos and his army. And begins Epic final.

Those two could be Downey Jr.´s last Iron Man movies.
GuardianDevil
GuardianDevil - 5/1/2013, 12:22 AM
Seriously, start building a darker side to the Marvel films. Bring in Daredevil, Punisher, Blade, Venom, Moon Knight, Ghost Rider and add another Hulk film similar to TIH. So, you can shut up all the butthurt DC fanboys who whine that Marvel only makes flashy and fun superheroes. Marvel has an entire slate of dark and emotionally deep characters they just haven't gotten around to giving them all movies in recent years.

We need some great solo female superhero movies! She-Hulk is awesome, but I think Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, or Spider-Woman should get movies first.

I was hoping Kevin Feige would have something more positive to say about a Daredevil movie.
