Yesterday, the latest television ad for Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger found it's way online, which offered the first look at the modern-day bookend scenes of the much-anticipated film. Depicting of the finding of the Captain's mighty shield, and soon more, as well a new shot of Red Skull the Cosmic Cube's abilities, viewable in HD via ComingSoon, check it out!

Besides the confirmed appearance of S.H.I.E.L.D Director, Nick Fury, and the obvious "you-know-who," expect to see a familiar face during the modern day bookends. What do you think?

Captain America: The First Avenger focuses on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes and Peggy Carter to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull. Starring Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Hayley Atwell, Samuel L. Jackson, Stanley Tucci and Hugo Weaving, the film releases July 22, 2011.

We are really lucky this summer. We get Thor, Green Lantern and Captain America. Though both Thor and Green Lantern wasn't as awesome as I believed them to be I really enjoyed them both in their own respect. I think Captain America is going to be the best of the three big this summer. Next year is going to be amazing. Captain America looks quite frankly awesome. Let's just hope the comicbookmovie franchise continues, and spawns more heroes to the cinemas. I hope Green Lantern gets a a sequel which truly shows the potential of that specific movie. Fingers cross that Captain America will make WB wake the [frick] up and let DC do their thing alone without interference. Geoff Johns has some explaining to do. Either he didn't get to do enough, or it is simply the writers fault. Get with the program.

Captain FTW!

The guy over the shield is black, any idea who it could be? Maybe those people are ice fishers or something and they end up the first ones finding Cap.

And can someone post a few screen shots of that please!!!

He is also Easter Egged in Iron Man 2 not once.. But twice!
(His secret lair.)

(His corporation under his alias.)

[frick] yeah some more Namor referances would be nice in 'Captain America'. :D

my guess? Tony Stark is there, sorta similar to Ultimates #1. plus it's good movie Marvel continuity as to date, Iron Man is still the top worldwide draw over Thor or Hulk.

although if Denzel Washington is there for a random Malcom X cameo that would make absolutely no sense at all, but be weirdly entertaining I suppose.
JatevinM
JatevinM - 6/29/2011, 12:36 PM
If Denzel is there who could he be playing? Maybe a scientist or he could be Falcon. But regardless that looks alot like Denzel. Maybe he is playing an aged Gabe Jones.
