“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” features an outstanding supporting cast that includes Sebastian Stan (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Black Swan”) as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie (“The Hurt Locker,” “Million Dollar Baby”) as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Cobie Smulders (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “How I Met Your Mother”) as Agent Maria Hill, Frank Grillo (“Zero Dark Thirty”) as Brock Rumlow and Georges St-Pierre (“Death Warrior”) as Georges Batroc. Rounding out the talented cast are Hayley Atwell (“Captain America: The First Avenger”) as Peggy Carter, Toby Jones (“Captain America: The First Avenger,” “The Hunger Games”) as Arnim Zola, Emily VanCamp (“The Ring 2,” “Revenge”) as Agent 13 and Maximiliano Hernández (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Thor”) as Agent Jasper Sitwell.

Watched this one on wednesday. Was pretty good, no real Cpt. America fan so I'm not too overhyped seeing it. It had better pacing than the first one though and the credits scene connects to the Avengers sequel.

The 3D effects were subpar in this one though, the fast paced fights were way too blurry and you could barely make out most moves. They really dropped the ball in that department.

But overall, was a pretty good movie, possibly the best Marvel movie yet (as it wasn't really making fun of itself unlike 99% of the other Marvel flicks). I hope they keep that tone for future Marvel titles, it really suits the universe (a more serious, less fun tone. Not as serious as the Nolanverse though).

Watched it twice already. The movie is indeed amazing. Probably the best MCU solo film.

I've now seen the winter Soldier three times and it never gets old. Character development is top notch. The best fight scenes in any CBM. A phenomenal soundtrack and lots of moments which will make fans rejoice. The Winter Soldier gets a 10/10 from me and in some respects surpasses all CBMS that came before it. P.S. the Winter Soldiers theme is freakin epic.

Saw Cap 2 last night. Excellent movie, you could remove all the superhero elements and it would still stand up as a great action/thriller adventure. With the Super Soldier added in it just becomes sweeter.

And so many easter eggs. Too delicious...

Saw the film on Thursday, it was really good and serious. The people whining about the humor in Marvel movies will have to find other imaginary flaws on that one. Not as good as The Avengers, but a close second (tie with Iron Man). The action was intense !

CA: TWS = flawless masterpiece. 10/10

It's down to single digits now, gettin' closer everyday.
@Starfox, I doubt Widow whoops WS's ass, probably just the cuttin' of the trailer. I'm thinkin' it's gonna be more of a "Widow meets Hulk" moment. She's tough, but I thin' WS is gonna be on a whole other level like Cap is.
ProfessorX
ProfessorX - 3/29/2014, 11:22 AM
The only thing Avengers has over CA: TWS is the "wow factor" of having all the heroes together. Action and plot are far superior in this film.
