Frank Grillo's Crossbones Is Reportedly Main Antagonist Of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

A seemingly offhanded claim from a trusted Variety reporter suggests that Crossbones, played by Frank Grillo in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, will serve as the primary villain of the cinematic version of Civil War, despite Grillo's dismissal of knowledge on the project.

After making an appearance in this year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it's been widely speculated that Frank Grillo's Brock Rumlow, aka Crossbones, would play a significant part in future Captain America movies -- after all, he is the one that assassinated the Star-Spangled Avenger at the close of Marvel's Civil War event. However, Grillo seemingly knows very little about Marvel's cinematic version of Civil War, which will see Iron Man go head-to-head with Cap as in the comic, informing his Twitter followers about a week ago that he knows "less then (sic) nothing". Well, it appears he will return and play a bigger role than previously imagined, with Variety reporter Justin Kroll stating he will serve as the primary antagonist. The tweet below is a reference to Marvel's announcement that actor Daniel Bruhl would join Civil War in an unknown villainous role, with Kroll claiming that Bruhl's character is secondary to Crossbones.

This should still be taken as rumour, but with Variety being one of the most reliable sources out there, perhaps we will see Grillo take on a much more prominent role. Are you interested in more Crossbones, or should he remain at henchman-level?
