COMICS: Meet Kamala Khan, The New MS. MARVEL

Now that Carol Danvers goes by Captain Marvel, I guess we needed a new "Ms." on the block, and that's exactly what we're getting in Kamala Khan -- a teenager from New Jersey who also happens to be Muslim. Click on for the teaser pics and some more details.

Here's an excerpt from the NY Times' report.

"Kamala, whose family is from Pakistan, has devotedly followed the career of the blond, blue-eyed Carol Danvers, who now goes by Captain Marvel, a name she inherited from a male hero. When Kamala discovers her powers, including the ability to change shape, she takes on the code name Ms. Marvel — what Carol called herself when she began her superhero career."

Well her powers explains the giant fist..the giant hedgehog with Hulk hands? Not so much. The new series will be written by G Willow Wilson, and you can find out much more about it at the link below. Ms. Marvel #1 will ship in February 2013, but the character will first appear in January's All-New Marvel NOW! Point One special.
