According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gina Carano and Rob Liefeld are teaming up to bring Avengelyne to the big screen. The duo will be at the San Diego Comic-Con this Saturday to meet with fans and to sign posters featuring the actress as the character. The search for a writer and director will then begin next week. As for the premise, the site adds that, "Avengelyne and its subsequent miniseries told of a fallen angel cast to Earth. Her mission is to find and protect "the one" a person who holds the key to saving mankind from demons and other monsters." The movie will be a franchise for Carano - who is a fan favourite choice to play Wonder Woman -in the same vein that the successful Underworld one was for Kate Beckinsale.

No clue as to what Avengelyne is, but if your counting on MMA fighter to act then you are in luck.

All I remember of Avengelyne is Linkara's hilarious review of The Godyssey. Boy that comic was just so awful.

I can't see this as helping the plight of female superhero cbms. I only read a couple of these, back in the day, but it was mostly cheesecake shit. They even had a swimsuit issue.

Although, back then, almost every comic had a swimsuit issue. I remember the X-Men one's fondly.

She is very, very, very far from being a Wonder Woman. If she were cast as Wonder Woman the franchise would be dead before it even started. I could care less about this, but this new makes me happy for Wonder Woman. WW needs an actress who not only fits the part, but can ACT too.

Well..her movie career is now in the toilet.
She may not be the best actress but she could have thrived doing col action films.

She's now stuck portraying a terrible character created by the worlds worst comic "artist".
Hope the whole thing falls through & does not get made. Just Awful.

After reading the plot for this crappy movie it sounds alot like that movie starring Paul Bettany as a fallen angel protecting a pregnant girl..LEGION I think it was called.

Any film studio willing to adapt a Rob "shittiest artist alive" Liefeld project needs to burn their money first because the end result is the same...A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

She's got radio-face. There's no reason for her to be a leading lady in any movie.
Anybody see Fast and Furious 6? She's got the acting range of a block of ice.

And she's been dumped by Cavill.

This could ruin her chance to play WonderWoman if they are even considering her.

i hope whatever director gets the gig never has a single shot of anyone's feet in it. It would be like a cameo of Rob's limited talent.

All the haters need to settle down. She's not a terrific actress but she would be pretty dang good as Wonder Woman. There's no denying she looks it and can fight better than almost any actress. The acting chops are a work in progress. I'd pay her to be in my movie franchise.

All we need is another film about a badass fallen angel helping the human who is destined to save the world. Been there...done that...didn't waste the money on the t-shirt. :-p

A C film for a C actress. Keep the macho woman away from Wonder Woman...please!

Yeah that comic was abysmal..

I wouldn't think that there would be enough substance there on which to base a film.
