COMICS: Covers And New Details For Al Ewing and Greg Land's New MIGHTY AVENGERS Series

We've been seeing teasers for this series all week, but Marvel has now officially unveiled three covers for Al Ewing (Judge Dredd) and Greg Land's (Iron Man) upcoming Mighty Avengers series along with some revealing new details and team members. Check it out!

Spinning out of the events of Infinity, this September will see the launch of Mighty Avengers from the creative team of Al Ewing and Greg Land. As you can see from the cover art below, the team members we've been teased with all week will not be the only heroes to step forward when Earth is attacked by Thanos. Monica Rambeau (formerly known as Captain Marvel, and now known as Spectrum), Falcon, and a new Ronin will be joining them. This is obviously a very racially diverse team of Avengers, although the Superior Spider-Man's involvement will cause some conflict in the team as he takes a "Who do you people think you are?" approach to them trying to protect "his" city during the crisis. His presence - Wolverine was also set to be a member at one point - will of course help boost initial sales. It's thought that Jessica Jones will play a small role in the series, although there are currently no plans for Iron Fist to show up. More details can be found below!

Knowing that the comics help dictate the movies and tv shows, and vice versa: doesn't it stand to reason that J. Augusta Richards character will be either the new Power Man or the Blue Marvel? Especially since in one of the pics you see some kind of tech on the inside of his arms.

Hmmm, I had never heard of this new Power Man b4.

"Victor Alvarez was first introduced as an Afro-Dominican teenager from the neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen in New York City. As a child, he was caught in an explosion caused by the villain Bullseye that resulted in the deaths of over 100 people. Victor survived by somehow using a technique that drew the chi from the dead bodies around him and temporarily granted him superhuman strength and durability"

Ridiculous. What possible non-race based origin could put this group together. None.
Truth, Marvel writers traditionally picked characters for their story potenial and team balance. Today Marvel abandons story for agenda. The Political Correct agenda is censorship. The PC agenda is what will be the focus and origin of this team.

BTW: the spray painted "MIGHTY" meaning urban = minority = poverty and crime should be offensive to all inner city residents.

This is from an article about the team not being mostly white:

Brevoort said it was "no accident" that this team is very diverse in its makeup saying that he's used to fielding questions about Marvel doing a team of "Black Avengers" or any other group with a minority focus. He said that he'd always felt the concept was fake and forced, but "The reality is that the people who are interested in these characters and want to see heroes that reflect them have a genuine point. We first started conceptualizing this book in February around Black History Month, so there was a lot of talk around that." He said particularly a huge inspiration for the book was the late writer Dwayne McDuffie. Brevoort said he wanted to make a book that McDuffie would have made in terms of there being at least 50% non-white, non-male characters. And as it turns out, the final balance is more than 50%. Brevoort promised the series didn't mean that more diverse characters won't show up in other titles, but this series needed that as an anchor thanks to the guiding presence of Luke Cage.

Can't stand that new Power Man idiot.
Terrible looking outfit & to most Luke Cage "IS" Power Man.
It would be sweet if Ronin is really Black Panther.

I like for Black Panther to be a member over White Tiger.
I think the opposite of most & would love an "all-black" team.

Great Team: Cage,Black Panther,Falcon,Spectrum,Blue Marvel plus Storm..BADASS!

Having Wolverine/Spidey/Ironman/Cap on so many teams is forced and fake. This is the agenda of the marketing dept. Shoe-horning these characters for marketing purposes limits storylines and team dynamics just as much as PC reasons.

@sameoldthing couldn't agree more. That team could actually have a reason for existing beyond race.

Also, I wouldn't mind an all minority Avengers at all.
Here's mine:
Spectrum- love Monica
Cloak (Dagger could be token white)
SilverClaw-
BlueMarvel--(please rename as Marvelman)
WarMachine- marketing would approve
SpiderGirl- see WarMachine
Marcus Fury

Wow! they make one book, I repeat ONE BOOK, with some color in it, and now everyone is complaining. Why if you make a book with all white characters in it it's a good book, you make one with a little color it's PC.

Wow, I can't believe what I'm reading !!!! 99% of super heroes and super hero teams are white. Is it really that bothersome that one team has a few more blacks than usual ? Would we discuss this it were more Asian, or Latino characters ? Afte all Latinos are the new majority, or soon to be. If a majority black super team bothers you that much just don't read it. Is it even necessary to comment on if you already had your mind made up that your not going to give it a chance any way ?

As soon as you realize that the team wasn't all white, it probably wasn't a subconscious realization.

Why does the Blue Marvel look exactly like Dr. Fate? I was like what's he doing in a Marvel book?
