Isn't he back to dating Mary Jane? Why does it look like they are gonna hook up? Glad I an get previews of this before they come out. then I don't have to worry about buying the book to see how shitty it is.

This is why Marvel bugs me sometimes...they straight up lie to the readers. They said that Peter Parker fans would fade away, cancel the Amazing Spider-Man title to do this story which could have just been another story arc in the Amazing Spider-man comic and just called it "Superior" do 12 issues of it then go back to norm. But noooooo they had to do all this bullshit and still have Peter get his body back, and basically LIE.

I personally think that since marvel studios started building towards avengers, that marvel have been trying to push spider-man out of the flagship character title and make it into the avengers. You only need to look at the way they have been treating spider-man over the past few years and see the amount of avengers titles to see this.

The facial ID thing at the beginning (and the engineer effectively saying it's 'too much power for one man') - Superior Spider-Man continues to rip off Batman; this time, ripping off the sonar machine, and Lucius Fox's disapproval of it, from The Dark Knight. Does he still have that stupid Spider-Signal?

If you haven't been reading this book your a fool. Anyone with ignorant or bias views towards this book obviously haven't read anything at all! The new take on Spider man has been innovative, the only sad thing is it points out how much Peter wasted his potential!

so massacre is on the loose killing people and ock is like eh [frick] it i don't care, yeah you are totally a superior spider-man, man [frick] this series
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 2/28/2013, 12:52 PM
@ACira- That's because Slott is trying to turn Spider-Man into Batman, except Batman isn't a coward who steals a person's body to escape death.

@OtakuPapi- So we're idiots for not caring about a comic. Do I eve need to point out how dumb that is? Also, Peter Parker is Marvel's most iconic character and far better and more popular than Doc Ock ever will be. I have no interest in reading a comic where Spider-Man contemplates raping Mary Jane.

@ACira

"Does he still have that stupid Spider-Signal?"

The Spider-Signal was introduced to take a pop-shot at Batman and was never meant to be taken seriously. In fact, two pages after Jameson revealed it to the city, Ock-Spidey destroyed it, claiming it to be a useless tool which announces his whereabouts to the city's villains. Your ignorance on the new Spider-Man series astounds me and you have no basis to insult Marvel on this matter.

@CaptainObvious

If you really think that Ock-Spidey is the new status quo then you are seriously [frick]ed up in the head. The new series is a chance for Ock to redeem himself and his villainous past and I don't see this lasting more than a few months at the most. Also, Ock-Spidey broke up with MJ so the rape-controversy can be put to rest. I don't think it was a serious concern to begin with. After all, it's Doctor Octopus for Christ's sake. Is he expected to make the most morally sound decisions just starting out?

I can see that many people are giving this new series a lot of unjustified hate. I think that if they actually read the series and not just these 3 page previews, they might think differently.
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 2/28/2013, 1:43 PM
@the1egend1ives- I'm well aware this isn't permanent despite Marvel's claims it was. Also, that Spider-Ock/MJ was pretty serious when it started. If they had actually slept together, Spider-Man would have been labeled a rapist. Sexual activity under false pretenses is rape.

I have no interest in Spider-Man comics until this whole thing is over and One More Day is reversed.

@CaptainObvious

Even if Ock slept with MJ (which he didn't) it would have been Ock labelled the rapist and not Spider-Man.

If you're limiting your exposure to Spider-Man because of One More Day then that's unfortunate. I mean, I was pretty PO'd about OMD as well, but I moved on because I realized that it was [frick]ing retarded to think that every single comic after One More Day would be terrible.

@CaptainObvious: The books is excellent. Unlike alot of people on this site i probably read every release of Marvel and Dc. The only series in Marvel now that aren't good are Thunderbolts and Deadpool. Superior Spider Man as well as Avenging Spider man is a notch about all the books. Peter Parker or not, it's the storylines that matter! I'm not so bias or emotional attached to character, but stories become stagnant if you don't shake it up sometimes in necessary! But your doing yourself and injustice by being so bias in your reading, your missing out on alot and when Peter comes back you'll be in the dark. But not only that, you'll have missed out on some really good story telling.

Yes, this is actually interesting. The dichotomy between good and evil that now exists within Spider-Man is great.
