As many avid comic book readers are well aware, Peter Parker/Spider-Man has recently become a part of the Future Foundation (formerly the Fantastic Four). This recent event came about from Amazing Spider-Man issue #657, when Spidey came over to visit with Reed Richards, Susan Storm-Richards and Ben Grimm shortly following the death of Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Fantastic Four #587). Spider-Man and Human Torch have been best friends since their teen years and Spidey is considered family within the Fantastic Four so when Johnny offered him his spot on the team he agreed.

Peter Parker's life has usually been based on bad luck but that has recently changed for the Pete since he has recently hired on with Horizon Labs as well as his own apartment (finally) and a new steady girlfriend (Carlie Cooper). Spider-Man's life has changed as well since becoming part of two Avengers teams and now the Future Foundation.

In Amazing Spider-Man #658, Spidey begins his new FF gig and unveils two new Spidey costumes. First up is the Fantastic Four costume he designed but wasn't accepted by the team due retirement of the logo and colors. The next costume unveiled is the new FF team costume in which Reed made. The new costume is black and white and although Spidey makes an Anti-Venom reference, it is actually a cool concept. The overall story was as good as always and contained many trademark Spider-Man quips.

This particular issue also showcases many of the FF worldwide, intergalactic and dimensional adventures to show how much the FF actually do in a day. The issue also previews a few instances where Reed and Pete go science geek and fade off into their own world. Most story lines usually compliment amazing art in a comic book issue but this one seemed like a throwback to older Silver Age issue comic books but the cover of the book drawn by Djurdjevic is fantastic.

If your a Spider-Man fan this issue is not one of the top issues but it still deserves a 3.5/5

Great article! You told the readers the gist of the plot and overall arc of the comic, but you didn't spoil the entire comic by revealing every detail. A solid rating was including, with the artwork and the necessary backstory to fill in the gaps that new fans may not know about.
