Mary Jane Watson is the major love interest of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. She has been a go-go dancer, a professional super-model, an actress and even a club owner. She turned down Peter Parker's wedding proposals several times before finally saying yes, then becoming Mary Jane Watson-Parker. She appeared in
The Amazing Spider-Man #25 (June 1965); however, you don't get to see her face in that issue. The first time that happens, is in
The Amazing Spider-Man #42, when she utters her iconic line, "Face it, Tiger... you just hit the jackpot!"
As for live-action, MJ first appeared in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007). In those films, Mary Jane was played by actress Kirsten Dunst ("Melancholia"). MJ was supposed to appear in Marc Webb's
The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but her storyline was dropped from the film even though actress Shailene Woodley ("Divergent") had already filmed several scenes.
