Ryan Renolds Talks Designing The DEADPOOL Costume; Says He "Wept" When They Finished It

Even though Ryan Renolds didn't show up in his Deadpool costume at Comic-Con (like Stephen Amell did with Arrow), the cast and crew unveiled some awesome new (rated R) footage, that revealed Deadpool, Colossus, and many others in action!

Aside from the actual footage, Ryan Renolds, while talking with Comicbook.com, revealed the process he and many others went through to make the finalized version of the costume we see today. "Here’s the thing with the Deadpool costume, we fought like hell to get that as though it jumped right out of the comic. Our goal was to make this the most faithful comic book to movie adaptation fans have ever seen. That’s hard to accomplish and a feat, but we’re just so happy with how this came out." With Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hitting theaters the same year, being the most faithful comic book to movie adaption might come as a challenge.

Renolds then continued, and told even more conflicts they had to put up with while designing the costume. "We had to fight to get the suit to where it is now. There was a lot of work with very little time. Fox gave us the green light and we had to be on camera in twelve weeks. That’s NO time for prep." He then added, "So we kept fighting and fighting to make tweaks to the suit. Like when the deadline has passed and we were still going back and forth."

Nothing was easy while making Deadpool, but the cast and crew were able to manage, and make a film that will excite fans all over the world. I’m sure Ryan Renolds is excited about the film’s release, but after they finished making the costume, he revealed the he and Tim Miller were so thrilled, they literally cried. “When we finally saw that suit, fully done, finished and completed…both Tim Miller and I wept. I’m not even exaggerating, we wept in Simi Valley California in some warehouse where some guy makes all these crazy suits and had this one under a spotlight. We walked in and we wept. Tears coming down our cheeks. It felt so good.”

Ryan Renolds revealed via Twitter, that we should be getting our first Deadpool footage in three weeks! And even though the Comic-Con trailer already leaked, I’m positive that this HD trailer they'll present will excite us all! What do you think about Deadpool's costume? Do you think you'll be able to wait 3 whole week?!? Sound off below with your thoughts!

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life. Directed by Tim Miller, while starring Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa Carlysle), T.J. Miller (Weasel), with Ed Skrein, and Brianna Hildebrand (Ellie Phimister), the much-hyped Deadpool is scheduled to open in theaters on February 12, 2016.
