Disney's
Aladdin features some pretty iconic songs, and many of these classics will be re-purposed for Guy Ritchie's upcoming adaptation of the 1992 animiated film. While snippets of some of
Aladdin's popular tunes have been heard throughout recent teasers and trailers, Disney is furthering its marketing push by releasing new clips from the movie.
The latest is a minute-long sneak peek that teases the moments right before Aladdin, in disguise as Prince Ali, and Princess Jasmine hop aboard the magic carpet and break into their classic song, "
A Whole New World."
Perhaps one of the film's most recognizable tracks, it'll be interesting to see how it translates into live-action. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait to see that when
Aladdin releases in theaters, as the clip cuts off right as they leave the palace.
Disney released a second clip from the film which offers an extended look at a scene that has been teased in many of the movie's trailers. Here, Aladdin asks the Genie to make him a prince, which the wish-giver explains has a very big "gray area."
Will Smith as the Genie - a role made famous by the late Robin Williams - is going to be one of the most scruitinzed parts of the film. When the first teaser came out, fans were quick to pounce on the poor CGI that brought him to life as the beloved character. However, with the release of more trailers and clips, people have warmed up to Smith's take on the Genie and it'll be fun to see what direction he goes with it.
