THE LION KING Adds BOJACK HORSEMAN Actress & Comedian Amy Sedaris As A Brand New Character
On the paws of the recent teaser trailer for Disney's new take on The Lion King, it's been announced that actress and comedian Amy Sedaris has joined the voice cast as a brand new character. Check it out.
When the teaser trailer for Disney's "live-action" retelling of The Lion King dropped last Thursday, many criticized it for how similar it looked to the original - but Jon Favreau's adaptation won't be sticking too closely to that animated classic, it seems.
According to Variety, Amy Sedaris (BoJack Horseman, The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) will be voicing a brand new character that did not appear in the cartoon. Though the trade doesn't provide a name for this new critter, they do reveal that the animal she'll be playing is an African elephant shrew.
The recent teaser generated a whopping 224.6 million global views, making it the second most-viewed trailer in history within 24 hours. If you missed it the first time around, click HERE to take a look.
The Lion King roars into theaters on July 19, 2019.
