After releasing a phenomenal take on The Daily Bugle last year, LEGO has now unveiled a version of the Sanctum Sanctorum inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Borrowing heavily from Avengers: Infinity War and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it features a bunch of fun nods to those blockbusters and the wider MCU.
In terms of minifigures, it includes Doctor Strange, Wong, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Ebony Maw, Master Mordo, Sinister Strange, Dead Strange, and the Scarlet Witch. The top story houses the museum of mystical collections, the middle section contains the library, and at ground level, there are familiar features both inside and out.
The 2,708-piece recreation of the iconic building measures over 32 cm (12.5 in.) high, 31 cm (12.5 in.) wide and 26 cm (10.5 in.) deep. Many of the model's walls and elements can be reconfigured to produce different action scenes, while it's also "compatible" with other LGO sets (presumably meaning it can be displayed alongside other non-Marvel-themed buildings).
With any luck, more sets like this are on the way. Avengers Tower would be pretty epic, though it's likely to be an incredibly expensive set depending on how big and detailed it ends up being. The New Avengers Compound could be fun, but beyond that, there aren't a whole lot of iconic MCU locations to recreate in this form. Avengers Tower would be a must in terms of the comics, however!
We'll see, but this Sanctum Sanctorum promises to be highly in demand when it launches on August 1. Check out the first look photos below and stay tuned for more LEGO updates as we have them!
In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the Marvel Cinematic Universe unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. We'll journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.
The movie's cast includes Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Loki Head Writer Michael Waldron.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now playing in theaters. It then arrives on Disney+ on June 22 and hits Blu-ray, 4k Ultra HD, and DVD on July 26.
