Assassin's Creed: The film

Assassin's Creed: The film

My thoughts on the film as well as Michael Fassbender's involvement. Not only as an actor but also as producer, plus I think I have a fit director in mind.

Assassin's Creed is one of the most popular games. Although I have only played and yet to beat the first game, it's not hard to see why this is so popular and people want a feature film for this product. It has an intruiging, strong story and if done right could turn into an epic trilogy. Ubisoft wasn't happy with Prince of Persia and didn't like the lack of creative control, so they went an made their own independent studio (similar to Marvel). The products they are currently in pre-production on are the following: Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and of course, Assassin's Creed. Mainly working on AC and it's again, not hard to see why. They plan on making it in 3-D (ugh! the millionth movie in 3-D!) but they also have Michael Fassbender. Not only is this extremely talented actor starring as Desmond Miles, whom is a descendent of the Assassin's but also Michael Fassbender is producing the film. I feel that Fassbender is an odd choice though. Even though the character he is playing is Desmond Miles, I feel he is more suited for Altair, the main Assassin in the first film. Here are my thoughts and ideas for Assassin's Creed.

Director

I initially had David Fincher as the director of choice, but after seeing a fancast for Splinter Cell (I'd give you props man but I can't remember your name) they had David Fincher as the director and he seems like a more fit choice. Here is my new director I feel can make a (at the very least) solid Assassin's Creed film. I was thinking someone with great potential who has recently came out with a film that's winning over critics.

Rian Johnson

He is winning over critics with Looper and because of that film alone, it shows his potential in the film industry and I think he can do Assassin's Creed well. Assassin's Creed is more less a science fiction, period piece. It's a good fit.

Budget

Don't over do it. If you over do it, you might not make your budget. Especially seeing that Ubisoft Motion Pictures is doing this alone with Michael Fassbender producing, I'm gonna suggest a 150 million dollar budget. Even if it's R rated, with AC's popularity and them going 3-D on this. It should be fairly easy for them to make it's reasonable budget.

Rating

I feel from experience with the first game, it should be an R rated film but just at the R rating. It's not bad for a hard R but not weak enough for a PG-13 film.

Cinematography

I feel John Toll should be the cinematographer. Watching The Last Samurai is what convinced me that he is the man for the job. The look and feel of the film had the epic and foreign feel to it, that's what Assassin's Creed needs.

These are my thoughts and ideas. What do you think? Comment below

We don't know he is playing Desmond Miles. It could be totally original. Do some more research first. And frankly, I am far more invested in the MGS film.

Yeah, Rian Johnson could be a good choice, but what about Christoper Nolan? I mean, he's good with movies like this that should really make you think.

Why does everyone say Chris Nolan nowadays? Christ sake. A Justice League movie you say? CHRIS NOLAN. A Metal Gear Solid movie you say? CHRIST NOLAN and *grimace* chris bale... *grimace*. A Assassin's Creed movie you say? CHRIS NOLAN. He's the producer of Man of Steel? IT'S HIS FILM THEN.

Christ people, there are other good directors out there. Nolan ain't doing everything.

I didn't like Robin Hood too much, but the cinematography was amazing. Prometheus was nothing special too me, but Scott has done loads of good sci-fi before, so yes, I suppose he should be considered by Ubisoft on the list of potential directors.

Jeez, calm down dude. I don't suggest Christopher Nolan for everything, I just think he's well suited for Assassin's Creed.

@DaRaginScotsman

It's simply annoying to see people suggest him to make every single movie that's an adaptation of anything nowadays. I've even see loads of people say they will boycott or refuse to watch the inevitable Justice League film is Nolan is not involved.
