Avengers Sequel Overview

Avengers Sequel Overview

I'm just giving a run-down of what I'd like to see from an Avengers sequel: Cast, Plot, etc...

[First of all, this is gonna be quite long.]

The Avengers Sequels

The guys who have been cast already won't be appearing since...well, they've been cast, so what'd be the point?

Anyway, first here's what I'd like from the Avengers sequels:

1. A Quadrilogy.
A lot of people say they want three films, which would be fine if the Avengers' rogues gallery wasn't filled to the brim with great villains.
If we had a quadrilogy we could squeeze in the four important stories that are dying to be put onto the big screen; the founding of the Avengers, Kang, the rise of Ultron, and the invasion of the Skrulls.
And I want them in that order too, specifically with...

2. No Ultron for Avengers 2.
I get that people really want Ultron on the big screen, heck I'm all with you on that, but putting him in the second movie will just cause disaster.
For instance, Hank and Jan aren't in the team in the first movie (that we know of) but they may just be a glimmer of hope for them to have a small appearance in the film, as an easter egg for the fans. DON'T DO THAT! I beg Marvel, please don't give them a tiny part in the first one. Why? Because it'd only be a small part. I really don't see Marvel casting great actors, who'll cost a lot, for the short time they'd be in the film. But we need good actors otherwise they won't be able to carry the film as main characters in the sequel with Ultron. And I reallllllllyyy don't want anymore casting changes.
See what i'm getting at?
Basically, I just want Marvel to push back Hank and Jan to Avengers 2, with Kang as the villain. That way we can flesh out and really sell these new characters in one film, then make them central to the story in the next, without casting changes or money problems.

So yeah, brief summary time.
Avengers 2: Empire Of Kang (I suck at titles)
After the events of the first movie, we are introduced to more areas of work in SHIELD, such as Robotics, the reopened Super Soldier Program, and other various divisions.
This ushers in Hank and Janet Pym, currently working on bio-engineering, and getting closer to making the Pym Particles.
We cut to the 30th century and watch as an arrogant Nathaniel Richards flicks through records of the heroes and villains of today, eager to experience the thrilling conflict of our time as opposed to the lackluster boredom of his. Shunned by his people for not enjoying the blissful laze, he denounces them, and exclaims he was born a conqueror.
Blah blah blah, Kang travels back, wanting to use his brain and prove he can do what no-one else could: beat the Avengers.
In short, he fails.
Escaping the Avengers grasp, and being more enraged for being defeated he becomes merciless, first travelling back to his time to wreak havoc on the peaceful society.
In doing so he unintentionally causes the death of the only person he's ever cared for, Ravonna. He blames the Avengers, too blind with rage to see it was his own fault, and immediately sets off to conquer modern earth.
When he attacks, Fury knows they will need more than just the team they had before. Enlisting his two best scientists, the pym particles now perfected and ready for action, Giant-Man and the Wasp join the lineup.
Then we have another kick-ass fight scene. Loads of booms! and kapows!
You get the picture.
Nearing the end of the fight, Kang sends a blast in the wasp's direction and sends her hurtling away, obviously causing a large amount of damage. Hank really doesn't like that.
Growing to a gargantuan size, he releases his full fury onto Kang, repeatedly smashing down on him, wanting him to pay for harming his wife.
As his hits get slower we see Kang stay motionless on the ground, dead from the attack. The scene slowly fades away, moving to a hospital ward with Jan. She's in a bad shape but she'll live.
Then we cut to the Avengers celebrating, minus Hank and Janet, and being all happy that world is once again safe.
Roll credits.

[After Credits Scene]
Hank is in his lab, stricken with worry and feeling a little unhinged. Fury enters, unable to not feel concerned about him, and tries to find the right words.
''Hank, I...I know this might not be greatest of times-
Hanks stares at him
-But...after what happened, some of our boys on the scene recovered some of Kang's armor.''
''Get to the point General.''
''They think it might help with your current assignment. Whatever you make of it...I can get a team to help you...''
Fury realises he's better off accepting that Hank'll be like this for a while. He makes a slow exit.
Pym holds his head in his hands, only looking up to have an empty glance at a file.
The camera focuses on the file, and we see 'PROJECT ULTRON' printed on the front.
Cut to black.

Now wouldn't that be great to watch? :]
Now for the cast.

Patrick Wilson for Hank Pym

I know that everyone is saying they want this, but I can't help but want it too. I loved him as the fragile Dan Dreiberg in Watchmen, the perfectly flawed Brad Adamson in Little Children, and really think could pull off the likable and inevitably train-wreck of emotions that is Hank Pym.
That was a mouthfull.
Anyway he has the look of a smart, but somehow average man down perfectly, and with all the things that happen to Pym, this could be a perfect showcase for Patrick's acting abilities.

Jennifer Morrison for Janet Van Dyne

Now I'm pretty sure I haven't seen this pick anywhere else and I'm really glad. For some reason I just haven't cared for a lot of other picks people have said, and I think that's because of the image of Wasp I have in my head. Really, I want someone who seems smart, and doesn't have to don a pair of specs and pretend. I also want someone who, while being hot, looks like she might actually last in a fight. And also she needs to be relatively short and a good match with Hank.
Jennifer just fills those criteria for me. I can see her actually being a Sheild scientist, and not just the pointless, hot one. And a wholey unexpected plot-twist, I just found out she was the voice for the Wasp in the Super Hero Squad Show. It's fate!

Kevin Spacey for Kang

Again, this is one of those picks I've seen a lot but I just have to say, I adore this pick!
Kevin Spacey is an actor who I really do love, and wholeheartedly believe he would be the perfect Kang.
I'd really want him to be somewhere between how he acts in the driving scene in Se7en, where he seems a little agitated but still really monotone, and his Luthor.

I don't see a problem with him playing both Luthor and Kang, since I see Kang as a role with more freedom. He'll get a decent fight scene and a vast series of emotions to toy with, which was what I feel lacked in Superman Returns.
But I don't want to bring that whole argument up.

Anyway, I'll be writing the fancast and story to Avengers 3: Ultron Unlimited once I post this, so expect to see it soon.
And as I haven't made a poster for you guys in a while, I thought I'd mock up ones for both films. Here they are :]
